Sustainability Fellows are ambassadors of environmentalism and sustainability to the Ursinus community. Fellows are passionate about work that makes a positive impact on the planet and our communities, as well as their own personal growth and professional development. Through this position, Fellows will develop critical thinking and leadership skills that will assist you in whatever you choose to do after your time at Ursinus. Like all Sustainability Fellows, Energy Fellows are expected to participate in a weekly 1-credit course, taught by the Director of Sustainability, participate in First Year Move-In, Sustainable Move-Out, and Office of Sustainability events and projects throughout the semester. Additionally, Fellows meet with the Director of Sustainability one-on-one at least twice a month to discuss project implementation and provide feedback. Fellows who complete all requirements of their position are eligible to receive a stipend for the fall and spring semester, as well as a green cord for graduation. All Fellowships are two semesters long. The Energy Fellowship runs from late August through the end of the spring semester in May, or the length of one academic year. (Please note that taxes will be taken out of the $150.00 stipend).
Responsibilities:
Energy Fellows help to assess the college's greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and energy use. Energy Fellows analyze the College's data on emissions, convert it into graphs and charts that can be read by the public, and gain experience in communicating about GHGs with various stakeholders. If you are interested in gaining experience interpreting or analyzing data, working with spreadsheets, or learning about carbon emissions, an Energy Fellowship may be right for you! Data science, technology, computer science, public relations, LEED certification, and renewable energy are a few of the fields that utilize the same skills that students practice in an Energy Fellowship.

Interest in energy, climate change, and greenhouse gas emissions
Willingness to learn from and collaborate with others
There is no specific major requirement to be an Energy Fellow!

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The goals of the Tim Palmer River Conservation Fellowship Program are to advance dam removal projects in Pennsylvania, enhance community resiliency and river health, provide academic and professional development opportunities, and honor Tim Palmer's legacy in river conservation. The fellowship will provide a comprehensive, immersive experience for practitioners that are passionate about progressing river conservation and who are ready to take the next step in their careers. The fellowship will run for one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year based on a case-by-case review by the American Rivers Mid Atlantic team. Working closely with American Rivers staff, the fellow will participate in dam removal feasibility studies, community outreach and engagement, research and policy analysis, collaboration with partners, project reporting, and fundraising support.
The fellow will directly support American Rivers' conservation campaigns, particularly focusing on:
1. Dam removal and river restoration projects in Pennsylvania
2. Community engagement and resiliency initiatives
3. Research on river conservation policies and ecological impacts of dams
4. Exploration of funding opportunities for future projects
Fellows will have the opportunity to attend relevant conferences and workshops to broaden their professional networks and may contribute to thesis work related to river conservation or dam removal

The Saint Joseph's University Archives and Special Collections is seeking a graduate student in the fields of public history, library/information science, or museum studies for a fellowship to assist in the organization, digitization, access, and promotion of its various collections.
The Fellow will apply practical course related knowledge to digitization, archival processing, finding aid creation, and physical and virtual exhibitions. Working in an archival and special collections environment involves both intellectual and physical responsibilities, including research, writing, scanning, photography, file naming, lifting and moving boxes, climbing on ladders to reach higher shelves, cleaning, rearranging materials and putting away supplies.
Projects may include working with Saint Joseph's collections of oral histories, records of the University, Old Saint Joseph's Church, and Pharmacy school records and history. The Archives and Special Collections are housed in locations on the Hawk Hill and University City campuses.

Responsibilities:
Agroecology Fellows, guided by the Director of Sustainability, and Faculty from the Environmental Studies Department will plan, plant, manage, harvest, and winterize various aspects of the campus farm and food forest. Fellows will gain experience doing tasks such as soil sampling and nutrient analysis, tilling, weeding, creating a planting plan, undergoing food safety training, selling produce, educating members of the campus, and keeping inventory, among other duties. Agroecology Fellows are also responsible for managing volunteers, who come on several scheduled volunteer or stewardship dates each semester. These groups include members of Greek organizations, athletic teams, first-year students, ENV100 students, and others.

The Center for Writing and Speaking offers highly qualified student writers the opportunity to work as peer writing consultants, called Writing Fellows.
Writing Fellows consult with students at all levels of experience and aptitude, at all stages of the writing process, and from all disciplines within the college. Some Writing Fellows hold appointment hours in the Center for Writing and Speaking. Other Writing Fellows are paired with a section of a course, usually Common Intellectual Experience (CIE) or 100- and 200-level courses in the disciplines. These Writing Fellows also meet with their faculty partner to discuss writing pedagogy and consult with each student in their class about twice per semester.

The primary Writing Fellow duties are:
To advise and support students through all stages of the writing process.
To locate strengths and identify patterns of error in student writing, and to explain each cogently to students.

To help students articulate a revision plan for their writing and speaking.
To document each tutoring session and provide a session record to the student, the professor, and the Director of the Writing and Speaking Program.
