The Role
The Research and Innovation (R&I) department requires a professional with experience in Research and Development or New Product Development to deliver on the product development roadmap growing Avanos' enteral feeding business particularly in the development of our silicone balloon line . Description
Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is offering a full-time one year Abdominal Imaging Fellowship that involves a combination of supervised, and independent patient evaluation and management, progressively complex imaging interpretation, and formal educational activities. The fellowship position entails provision of care commensurate with the housestaff physician's level of advancement and competence, under the general supervision of appropriately privileged attending teaching staff.
This includes:
Participation in patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, safe and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health.
Developing an understanding of established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and cognate (e.g. epidemiological and social-behavior) sciences and the application of this knowledge to patient care.
Developing an understanding of the ethical, socioeconomic and medical/legal issues that affect graduate medical education and of how to apply cost containment measures in the provision of patient care.
Participation in the investigation and evaluation of their patient care practices, appraisal and assimilation of scientific evidence, toward the goal of improvement of their patient care practices.

As part of their daily performance Abdominal Imaging Fellows are responsible for:
Interpretation of CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopic and plain film examinations of the abdomen and pelvis. This includes all varieties of scans and indications, including but not limited to:
General exams for acute and chronic pain, tumor evaluation, chronic disease.
Subspecialty urologic exams for hematuria, stone disease, renal, ureteral, bladder and urethral neoplasms
Subspecialty gastrointestinal exams for bowel inflammation, neoplasm, perforation and ischemia
Subspecialty exams of the liver, pancreas, adrenals, spleen, biliary tree, gallbladder, lymph nodes, peritoneal and retroperitoneal spaces, musculoskeletal structures, and diaphragm.
Subspecialty pelvic imaging, including Ob/Gyn, prostate, pelvic floor dysfunction.
Experience with CT Colonography, MR PET, and other highly specialized abdominal imaging procedures.

“On Call” is shared evenly among the fellows. This includes nightly ‘beeper' call from home, and weekend call. Weekend call includes in hospital (8 am - 5 pm) interpretation of overnight cases for Grady Health interpreted with preliminary readings by the overnight residents, abdominal cases performed during the day. Beeper coverage from home is covered from 5 pm - 8 am the next morning.
Dedicated elective time to pursuit more in depth experience in abdominal imaging, or to gain added experience in other areas within the radiology department. This can include procedural experience with the IR division.
Over the course of the fellowship, fellows are given graduated levels of independence, and, depending on performance, may earn the ability to get experience final signing reports. This is especially helpful when it comes time to transition into being an attending radiologist after fellowship is completed.

Qualifications:
- Educational Background: PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience: 12+ years in software development and AI, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in generative AI, NLP, or related fields. Proven expertise in architecting and deploying large-scale AI/ML systems in production environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and MLOps practices for large-scale model training and deployment.

Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is offering a full-time one year Abdominal Imaging Fellowship that involves a combination of supervised, and independent patient evaluation and management, progressively complex imaging interpretation, and formal educational activities. The fellowship position entails provision of care commensurate with the housestaff physician's level of advancement and competence, under the general supervision of appropriately privileged attending teaching staff.
This includes:
+ Participation in patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, safe and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health.
+ Developing an understanding of established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and cognate (e.g. epidemiological and social-behavior) sciences and the application of this knowledge to patient care.
+ Developing an understanding of the ethical, socioeconomic and medical/legal issues that affect graduate medical education and of how to apply cost containment measures in the provision of patient care.
+ Participation in the investigation and evaluation of their patient care practices, appraisal and assimilation of scientific evidence, toward the goal of improvement of their patient care practices.
+ Demonstration of interpersonal and communication skills that result in effective information exchange with patients, patient's families, and all levels of professional associates.

**Additional Details:**
As part of their daily performance Abdominal Imaging Fellows are responsible for:
+ Interpretation of CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopic and plain film examinations of the abdomen and pelvis. This includes all varieties of scans and indications, including but not limited to:
1. General exams for acute and chronic pain, tumor evaluation, chronic disease.
2. Subspecialty urologic exams for hematuria, stone disease, renal, ureteral, bladder and urethral neoplasms
3. Subspecialty gastrointestinal exams for bowel inflammation, neoplasm, perforation and ischemia
4. Subspecialty exams of the liver, pancreas, adrenals, spleen, biliary tree, gallbladder, lymph nodes, peritoneal and retroperitoneal spaces, musculoskeletal structures, and diaphragm.
5. Subspecialty pelvic imaging, including Ob/Gyn, prostate, pelvic floor dysfunction.
6. Experience with CT Colonography, MR PET, and other highly specialized abdominal imaging procedures.
+ Preparation and participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, including
1. Hepatobiliary
2. Inflammatory Bowel Disease
3. Genitourinary
4. Gastrointestinal
5. General Oncology
6. Gyn oncology
+ "On Call" is shared evenly among the fellows. This includes nightly 'beeper' call from home, and weekend call. Weekend call includes in hospital (8 am - 5 pm) interpretation of overnight cases for Grady Health interpreted with preliminary readings by the overnight residents, abdominal cases performed during the day. Beeper coverage from home is covered from 5 pm - 8 am the next morning.
+ Dedicated elective time to pursuit more in depth experience in abdominal imaging, or to gain added experience in other areas within the radiology department. This can include procedural experience with the IR division.
+ Over the course of the fellowship, fellows are given graduated levels of independence, and, depending on performance, may earn the ability to get experience final signing reports. This is especially helpful when it comes time to transition into being an attending radiologist after fellowship is completed.

The CDC Foundation, in collaboration with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is offering one or two-year fellowships in honor of Dr. Larry Gilstrap, an international leader in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
The Gilstrap OBGYN Fellowship for recent obstetrics/gynecology residency graduates is a full-time position beginning in August for a one-year opportunity with the possibility of an extension for an additional year, pending on performance and interest. The fellowship will provide training focused on public health surveillance research, clinical guideline development, and building subject matter expertise in emerging and reemerging infectious diseases, sexually transmitted infections, and infections during pregnancy.
The fellow will be hired by the CDC Foundation and assigned to the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia. The fellow will be hosted by one of three participating divisions: the Division of STD Prevention (DSTDP) (******************************* or the Division of Birth Defects and Infant Disorders (DBDID) (************************************************************* Opportunities for cross-collaboration are available.

Gilstrap fellows have published their work in high-impact journals (including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and the Journal of Women's Health) and have delivered presentations to clinical and public health audiences during scientific conferences and meetings, including those hosted by the American College of Obstetrician Gynecologists, the Federation of International Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Infectious Disease Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Society of Family Planning, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American College of Nurse-Midwives, Emory Rollins School of Public Health, the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, and CDC.
After the fellowship, graduates have successfully continued their work in public health positions (including at CDC) and clinical practices in obstetrics and gynecology.

ResponsibilitiesThe primary goal of this fellowship is to provide a unique public health training experience for physicians clinically trained in obstetrics and gynecology who seek to further their training and expertise in public health surveillance, research, programmatic planning, and clinical guideline development. Upon completion, fellows will have critical skills for future positions in academic obstetrics and gynecology, public health departments, and federal, state, territorial, or local public health agencies focusing on maternal and child health (MCH), STI/HIV prevention, and infectious diseases.The scope and nature of the fellow's projects during their tenure will be determined in consultation with CDC and CDC Foundation colleagues. At least one of the primary projects will involve evaluating data, identifying gaps, and developing recommendations for preventing syphilis in females and congenital syphilis. Other potential projects include:Secondary analyses of national data sets to assess prevalence and risk factors for STIs among pregnant and postpartum people and females of reproductive age;Analyses of national databases on patterns of hospitalizations for various conditions or health service claims for females of reproductive age and pregnant and postpartum people; and Surveillance, research, and programmatic activities related to the effects of emerging and reemerging infections during pregnancy (e.g., COVID-19, Zika, CMV, malaria).The fellow's work is anticipated to result in at least one presentation at a national conference and one publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
QualificationsApplicants must have an M.D. or D. O. degree, must have completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency within the last eight (8) years, and must be Board-eligible or Board-certified through ABOG at the time of employment.Preference will be shown to applicants with experience in clinical, epidemiologic, behavioral, or health services research, scientific writing, and/or public health.The Gilstrap Fellowship is anticipated to start annually in August. Job Description
Upon completion of the one year pediatric neurosurgery fellowship, the fellow is expected to reach the following goals: 1. Develop a high level of technical expertise in managing routine and complex pediatric neurosurgical cases. This includes intracranial, spinal, and peripheral nerve pathologies. 2. Familiar routine perioperative management of common neurosurgical diseases. 3. Familiar with nonsurgical cases, frequently referred to the neurosurgeon in an outpatient basis and their management. 4. Have developed a familiarity and comfort level with the management of acute pediatric neurosurgical cases, as frequently seen in the emergency room, trauma departments. 5. Have developed a solid, broad-based knowledge of pediatric neurosurgical problems, with the minimal requirement that the written board exam as given by the Pediatric Neurosurgical Fellowship, is easily passed. Research Component of Fellowship: If the fellow has a strong bench/lab research interest, this could be accommodated through Emory University, Georgia Tech, Morehouse, and/or the CDC. Clinical Structure and Responsibilities
* The fellow will be expected to share call with the attending neurosurgeons. He/she will manage his/her own "mini service" and be responsible for: admission and discharge of patients; operative management - with help and guidance of one of the attendings.
Operative and Technical Training
* During the clinical fellowship at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta/Emory University, the fellow will be exposed to an extensive operative volume. He/she will receive training in the following:
* The surgical management of common neurosurgical problems, such as hydrocephalus, spina bifida, craniofacial malformations, and brain tumors.
* In addition, more specialized training will be given within the discipline of pediatric neurosurgery. This includes special training in the following areas:
* Brachial plexus surgery
* Surgical treatment of medically intractable seizures - hemispherectomies, corpus callosotomies, vagal nerve stimulators, etc.
* Pediatric radiosurgery using the Gamma knife
* The use of intraoperative MRIs
* The use of intraoperative microscope
* The use of surgical adjuncts such as intraoperative neuronavigation, intraoperative electrocorticography and brain mapping, and spinal cord monitoring
Outpatient Component
* Participates in the following outpatient clinics/meetings: Multidisciplinary brain tumor clinic; Multidisciplinary spina bifida clinic; Seizure surgery clinic and conference; Neurosurgery; and Pediatric neurosurgery conference/journal club
* Upon completion of the fellowship, every major topic in pediatric neurosurgery will be discussed with the fellow by one of the attendings.
* Education - fellow to submit two papers for publication during fellowship year.
* Nighttime and Weekend Call Duties for the Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellow: Pediatric neurosurgery fellow will rotate call with the attending.
