Responsibilities:

The fellow will work with team members from multiple departments (Programming, Operations, Production, Development, Marketing and CRM) to plan and execute festivals and events on our Newark campus and in surrounding communities.

Schedule
This is an eight-week summer fellowship running June 9 to August 1, 2025.
Must be available Tuesday mornings; Thursday nights 4 - 8PM in July and August; and additional days and times to be discussed with supervisor
20 hours per week
Responsibilities
Work with festival coordinator to confirm food trucks, vendors and artists' needs
Assist with communications to artists, venues and management organizations for the Prudential presents North to Shore and Horizon Sounds of the City summer festivals
Collaborate with Operations, House Management and Production teams on setup, security, artist assistance and other festival needs
Review contracts and create cost projections for performance budgeting
Work with Operations team to review and/or create schedules and event documents through ArtsVision
Research demographics of ticket purchasers
Research the uses of AI to support department's needs
Minimum Qualifications
Open to rising college juniors, seniors, post-college graduates or graduate students
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Docs
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently on projects and assignments
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills via phone, email and in-person plus a knack for maintaining grace under pressure
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and be a team player
Preferred Qualifications
● 3.0 GPA or higher
● Involvement in extracurricular activities
● Interest in the performing arts and/or fundraising
● Event planning experience is a plus

The ABC News Fellowship is a year-long rotational program designed to develop early career journalists and content creators from a diverse group of backgrounds. You will spend a year rotating through a series of ABC News shows and platforms while mastering the editorial, production, and newsgathering skills crucial to success in the competitive, fast-paced field of multiplatform journalism. These journalists will gain hands-on experience developing news stories, working on productions, writing, shooting, editing, refining research skills and developing content for all platforms. Additionally, each participant will have access to industry-leading professionals, as well as development and mentorship opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Research and gather video elements for shows and units across ABC News platforms.
* Pitch and develop ideas for new stories, content, and formats to engage our audience.
* Serve as shooter in the field or in the creative space as needed.
* Identify and implement new technologies for visual storytelling.
* Conduct thorough research, reporting, and editorial content management under tight deadline pressures.
* Collaborate closely with the Legal department and Rights and Clearances team to ensure that all video, images, and audio content are cleared for broadcast.
* Coordinate and organize field shoots.
Basic Qualifications
* Minimum two years of relevant professional experience or equivalent educational graduate-level experience
* Proven writing skills
* Genuine interest in journalism, production and digital content
* Possess outstanding news judgment, attention to detail and a keen understanding of news broadcasts and the digital space.
* Candidates must have work authorization in the United States through 2024
Preferred Qualifications
* Ability to edit packages on AVID Newscutter
* Ability to shoot on DV camera
Education
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
The base salary for this position in New York City is $64,350. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
