Core Responsibilities: As a UIA Fellow, you have the opportunity to gain full-time experience supporting high-yield projects that are impactful to VCU and critical to the scaling mission of the Alliance. You will work on a manageable scope of work under the supervision of experienced higher education leaders. You will be charged to complete projects that enhance institutional capacity based on the needs of VCU. Fellows may engage in such work as policy research, assessment, data analytics, event planning, memo and proposal writing, and program enrichment analysis. Reporting to the university's UIA liaisons and the UIA Director of the Fellows Program, the next UIA Fellow at VCU will have the opportunity to shepherd UIA scale projects related to National Institute for Student Success (NISS) implementation, enrollment planning implementation, predictive analytics, proactive advising, strategic financial interventions, special projects, and/or college to career efforts. The UIA fellow also will be engaged in university-directed student success initiatives. Additional engagement opportunities include being trained in and leveraging skills in process mapping and design thinking to help improve the likelihood of student success for undergraduates who identify as first-generation college students, from low-income households/communities, and/or students from broad and varied populations. This one-year non-ACGME accredited fellowship will meet the UNOS qualifications making candidates eligible to become a Director of Liver Transplant Anesthesia at major U.S. medical centers. Fellows will receive a well-rounded experience through clinical experience, didactic education, scholarly endeavors and professional development. Position Responsibilities: * Teaching: Each fellow will have the opportunity to supervise residents and transplant division CRNA's in a variety of specialty specific cases with the priority focus on liver transplant cases. Other cases may include but are not limited to major hepatobiliary surgery, pancreatectomy with islet cell auto transplant, kidney transplant, multiple solid organ transplant and hepatic resections. * Clinical: The fellow will be consistently involved in pre-transplant candidate assessments for the multi-disciplinary liver transplant selection committee. This position will work closely with transplant hepatology, transfusion medicine and transplant critical care medicine during their fellowship. The Transplant Liver Fellow will spend an average of two days per week as an attending anesthesiologist supervising a mix of general operating room cases. This will allow the fellow to maintain their skills in clinical anesthesiology and earn supplemental income. * Education: Each fellow receives a stipend in professional funds for conferences, books or other approved academic resources. The fellows have dedicated time to work on academic projects and resources provided to help obtain basic certification in perioperative transesophageal echocardiography. Despite this high prevalence, integrated care delivery remains a significant challenge within mental health services. The impact of substance use on mental health outcomes, including increased suicide risk, frequent hospital readmissions, and poorer recovery trajectories, is often underrecognised and inadequately captured in service and system-level data. This PhD project will examine the integration of care for co-occurring mental illness and addiction within Victorian mental health services. The research will focus on: Quality and safety factors in integrated care delivery; Pathways of care and service navigation; System-level factors impacting treatment accessibility and effectiveness; Implementation strategies for improved integrated care.
