Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, including holidays
Hours: 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Typically this position generally averages 40 hours a week.
Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
Starting pay: $17.50/hr
Position Summary
This position is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting poultry houses; removing used litter from poultry houses; assisting with bird movement as needed; placing new shavings in poultry houses; bush hogging and/or mowing around poultry houses; maintaining and cleaning farm equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Remove used litter from houses; clean and disinfect poultry houses and all equipment (including vehicles/tractors) utilizing commercial pressure washer on wet/slick floor; place new shavings in houses following cleaning (55%)
Move birds as required to feed conversion houses, growing houses, laying houses or live haul loading area (10%)
Repairs and maintains tractors, pressure washers, litter truck, trailers, and mechanical equipment (10%)
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, such as: Repairs cages, pens, equipment and buildings or fenced yards; repairs pens, or equipment (feeders, waterers, lights, fans, etc.); farm cleanup such as garbage/litter retrieval; properly euthanize weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy (10%)
Performs simple math [addition, subtraction, multiplication and division] as part of recording information according to instructions and Cobb (15%)
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements:
The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift and/or move, up to 50 pounds to move items such as partitions, cages, bird coops; tools, such as pallet jack, may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 2000 pounds such as skids of supplies, shavings, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; stoop/bend up to 1000 times per day; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex; proficiently operate trailer/tractor/skidsteer/hyster. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

Tools and Equipment: Pressure Washer, High Powers hose, tractor
Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy and cold environments.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as required. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants such as Synergize, My-T-Kleen Barnwash, Lysol, Formaldehyde, Pesticide, etc.
Safety: Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment. Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks.

As a Farmer's Market Staff/Marketeer you will perform all functions relating to the maintenance and proper preparation of the farmer's market stall. Additionally, you will have to be able to lift at least 50 pounds and willing to work in adverse weather conditions. Marketeer must also be able to work quickly efficiently and able to adjust for unexpected circumstances. You will ensure a positive Atwater's image by providing courteous, friendly, and effective customer service. Must be able to work Saturday and/or Sunday.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Load food items and supplies required to take to the market.
Unload the van after returning from the market: make sure items are placed at the designated spot.
Ensure special orders are prepared and brought to the farmer's market.
Make sure food items are label correctly.
Ensure food items are bagged correctly.
Make sure the customers are being taken care of and the stall looks clean and neat at all times.
Ensure food items and presentation meets health department standards and safe work practices.
Ensure proper procedure of customer check out: making the correct change.
Document waste/spoilage, leftovers, and expenses on the appropriate form.
Follow the directions to fill out the “Market Money Form”
Make sure the van is clean and organized.
Qualifications:
Ability to drive a van (must submit a clean driving record from MVA).
