Reporting to the Chief of Police, the Accreditation Manager oversees all aspects of the international and state accreditation process to ensure compliance with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs (WASPC). This includes adherence to best practices, professionalism, and accountability standards within the law enforcement community; and collaboration with accrediting agencies, including managing accreditation documentation and records, conducting internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, facilitating policy development and updates to meet accreditation requirements, and overseeing training initiatives to ensure commissioned officers meet necessary certification and continuing education requirements.
The Police Accreditation Manager is expected to stay current and informed on all accreditation requirements and actively integrate and implement them into daily operations as needed. This work requires working collaboratively with members of the department, accrediting agencies, and other stakeholders to manage multiple priorities such as policy development and implementation, document and records management, audits and inspections, and training and development. Managing this work requires excellent planning and organization skills, a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders; a high level of judgement, sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy, particularly when handling confidential information; the ability to convey information clearly and professionally; and the ability to meet critical deadlines with minimal supervision.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **Accreditation Planning & Oversight (50%)**
- Manage all aspects of the accreditation process, including preparing for accreditation reviews, collaborating with accrediting agencies, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
- Provide direct guidance and consultation to department stakeholders on all policies, procedures, and best practices related to police accreditation. Areas of guidance include policy development and implementation, document and records management, audits and inspections, and training and development.
- Evaluate department policies and procedures and ensure compliance with accreditation standards. As necessary, identify areas of improvement and develop recommendations that comply with accreditation standards. **Accreditation Administration (30%)**
- Support the development, review, and update of departmental policies and procedures to align with accreditation standards and best practices.

**External Communication and Collaboration (20%)**

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

A bachelor's degree in police science, law enforcement, criminal justice, public administration, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years' experience in accreditation process, preferably in law enforcement.

*Target Hiring Range: $68,140 - $76,648 annually* Position is responsible for managing the Office's law enforcement accreditation process with multiple accrediting bodies, including the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), the Ohio Collaborative Police Advisory Standards, and the Ohio Collaborative Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. In addition, the position manages the agency policy and procedure system known as Lexipol. Candidates must be highly organized, proficient with current technology, highly collaborative, and able to problem-solve multi-faceted challenges. Completion of an associate degree and previous experience with accreditation, as well as with policy and procedure management for Law Enforcement Agencies, is highly preferred. Must have a valid Ohio driver's license and a clean criminal record. Work involves moderately complex processes and operations following established laws and procedures
* Acts as the Professional Services Division's Accreditation Manager and policy and procedure manager;
* Serves as liaison between the Division and the Agency's chosen accrediting bodies;
* Completes required Accreditation Manager training within one year of hire;
* Attends local, state, and national accreditation trainings, meetings, and/or conferences;
* Attends at least one training conference per Accreditation cycle to remain up to date on current accreditation trends;
* Attends the CALEA conference every 4 years to receive certification;
* Ensures that the Agency remains in compliance with applicable standards both in letter and in spirit;
* Reviews all applicable standards for compliance;
* Reviews and evaluates current accreditation standards and propose new ways to improve the Agency's compliance;
* Monitors the current accrediting bodies' publications for updates and disseminate information to the Professional Services Division Chief Deputy and other Agency personnel, as needed;
* Drafts correspondence to the Professional Services Division Chief Deputy, Executive Staff and/or Command Staff when new standards have been proposed or adopted and whenever there have been significant revisions to existing standards that may affect the Agency;
* Reviews and updates the Accreditation Database, as needed;
* Organizes a mock assessment approximately 1-3months prior to the anticipated web-based or on-site assessment date;
* Plans the on-site assessment approximately 1-3months prior to the anticipated on-site assessment date;
* Ensures that the Division annually submits the appropriate accreditation continuation fees;
* Completes and submits the Agency Status Report by the anniversary date each year;
* Manages the annual web-based assessment of Agency CALEA files;
* Assigns projects to unit personnel and sets project goals;
* Builds and maintains professional relationships both inside and outside the Division;
* Responds to inquiries from Agency personnel, other law enforcement agencies, other government agencies, and the public regarding any aspect of the accreditation process;
* Ensures the agency is in compliance with all State of Ohio Collaborative Standards and Accreditation Standards. Submits required documentation to applicable databases;
* Maintains all necessary records for the State of Ohio Collaborative Standards and Accreditation;

* Manage production cow-calf herd including calving, branding, grazing management, processing and vaccination, and overall herd health.
* Daily use of feed management software and data entry.
* Oversee testing facility that utilizes VyTelle feed intake nodes, monitoring and maintaining feeding data. Computer fluency a must.
* Detailed, computer-based record keeping including all animal health records, daily feeding records, cattle inventory, and feed and hay inventory records.
* General care and treatment of animals including branding, castrating, veterinary care, and dehorning cattle..
* Manage, supervise and participate in the ground preparation, irrigation, fertilization, application of chemicals, harvesting of hay and other production crops.
* Work as liaison with feed mills, substations and supply companies.
* Operate, maintain and repair equipment used in agriculture and farming.
* Assist faculty in conducting research and data collection.
* Estimate the needs for the general livestock and farming operations at SAREC.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
* Assist in building maintenance, repair and remodeling as necessary.
* Assist in training and supervision of existing farm crew and part-time staff.
* Act as Farm Manager in Farm Manager's absence.
* Travel to other centers to transport and test livestock and collect data.
