Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Professional Development Educator enhances professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by providing evidence-based quality educational programs and activities that promote professional aptitude for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed clinical staff at the assigned facility.
What you will do in this role:
Lecture nursing course theory
Develop tests in conjunction with the Program Chair
Supervise nursing students in specified clinical rotations
Provide academic student advisement, guidance and tutoring
Utilize a variety of resources to maximize student learning and active engagement
Assess individual and group learning needs and modifies teaching approaches as necessary to maintain effective instruction
Maintain positive teaching qualities including appearance, voice tone, body language, preparedness, enthusiasm, and creativity conducive to a learning environment
Maintain immediate availability to students during a clinical rotation offering feedback and direction in a professional manner
Communicate effectively and professional with clinical unit staff and leadership to facilitate a collegial relationship
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing required
3-5 years of nursing clinical practice in a pediatric area
Teaching in a nursing academic program is preferred
Must have or be actively working on a masters degree in nursing. Active, unencumbered RN or APRN license is required
