With 20,000 square feet and multiple digital machines, we are the largest operator in the area. Our Stone Fabrication Shop serves the Design Center next door. We are a complete one-stop shop with Appliances, Cabinetry, Doors and Door Hardware, Lighting, Slab, Tile, and Wood Flooring.
The Job
Understand and perform all functions necessary to complete the fabrication of Natural and Engineered stone countertops and various finish goods on the production floor. Adhere to strict company quality standards
Read and comprehend shop drawings and production information
Use a pneumatic polisher, wet polishing pads, handheld wet saw, handheld grinder, measuring devices
Polish / finish all types of profiled countertop edges and backsplash
Re-Finish the surface of stones as necessary to meet company standards
Organize your work upon completion and accurately document
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 75 lbs., frequently move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs., and use heavy machinery for equipment up to 1,000 lbs.
Requirements

Distribution Welder
Fabricator Job In Billings, MT
Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Safely performs welding and all duties associated with the operation, maintenance, and construction of gas distribution systems. Responds to emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and after hour calls. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school education and welding experience.
Able to operate gas construction equipment, including the ability to obtain pipeline welding, plastic fusion, and SCBA certifications.
Requires a strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
Possess or acquire a valid commercial motor vehicle driver's license appropriate for the position. (NOTE: Must be 21 to acquire a CDL valid for interstate travel.)
Possess or acquire a valid Crane Operators Certification as required for this position.
Must be able to perform all the essential functions required of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Highly motivated self-starter with good written/oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

We are looking for driven individuals wanting to participate in the Welding and Fabrication of aluminum petroleum and dry bulk interstate transport trailers. Welding and/or fabrication experience is required. Applicants will be given a comprehension welding test at their interview to determine starting wage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Successfully demonstrate proficient welding capabilities during weld test.
Set and operate welding equipment.
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Examine work pieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications.
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and work orders.
Position and secure work pieces using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines or hand tools.
Follow all company safety rules and practices.
Typical work schedule is 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday with overtime as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Welders will utilize the necessary skills and procedures to construct items used in the production of specialized communication units produced by Nomad GCS.
Essential Functions / Responsibility:
• Fabricate and welds metal and/or aluminum by applying the appropriate welding techniques.
• Must maintain a good proficiency rate, with training involved to achieve a higher level.
• Works under immediate supervision.
• Primary job functions include deburring material, staging material to be welded, stock cutting material and occasionally welding when asked to do so. Typically does not require exercising independent judgment.
Basic Knowledge Desired:
• 2-5 years of experience in interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics and determining appropriate welding process.
• 2-5 years of experience with MIG, TIG, spool gun, or push-pull welding applications.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Basic knowledge of the Metric and Imperial Measurement Systems & how to calculate with them.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) safely on a regular basis.
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear and is occasionally required to sit.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors.
• Must be able to wear the proper protective equipment all day working.
Qualifications & Experience:
• 2-5 years of previous welding experience.
• Good math skills including understanding numerical data and taking accurate measurements.
• Must have a valuable clear vision, being able to see details at close range of self.
• Prefer some previous experience in interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics and determining appropriate welding process, but not necessary. As well as previous experience knowledge of MIG, TIG, spool gun, or push-pull welding applications. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, but not necessary.
Working Environment:
• The current work environment is partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, working temperature can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but typically is held around 70F.
• The Employee must have the ability to work from heights at ground floor up to 20' from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
• The Employee may be subjected to noise levels which may range from low volume too loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time. A Hearing Conservation Test was performed, eliminating the requirement for hearing protection; however, it is available if personally needed.
• The Employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals which will require the Employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by that chemical's MSDS.
• All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times on the Production Floor.
• PPE - The Employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties. In some cases (painting, insulating, undercoating, etc.) the team member may be required to wear a respirator. No Team Member is to perform the duties requiring a respirator until they have successfully complied with the Respiratory Protection Program.
