Assist machine operators, handle product, visually sort and inspect, pack, and perform other operations that can be learned on the job
Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, saws, profilers, grinders, and drill presses

RES Fabrication Lead
The Reactor Enclosure System (RES) Fabrication Lead is responsible for leading a geographically diverse team focused on the design for fabrication, reactor fabrication oversight, and assembly of the reactor equipment supporting TerraPower's Natrium project. The RES Fabrication Lead reports directly to the Manager of RES Delivery, and works primarily with the RES design team, procurement teams, reactor component fabricators, and services vendors. The successful candidate will engage with and coordinate a team working on the reactor and it's interfacing systems as part of a high-performing team of engineers and scientists.
Responsibilities
Responsible for interfacing and coordination of a geographically diverse team to manage delivery of reactor equipment hardware and support engineering selections and bases. The team members include TerraPower employees, subcontracted resources, partner engineers and teams, and customers.
Support the development and delivery of integrated reactor equipment and its components, from design phase through field construction and startup, to the highest levels of safety and reliability. Demonstrate visible, continuous leadership in the areas of safety and quality.
Develop and coordinate a complete product fabrication lifecycle, such as but not limited to design for fabrication efforts, construction and fabrication drawings and specifications, and implementation of pre-service and in-service testing, inspection, surveillance, and NDE plans to the reactor.
Ensure development and approve material specification, weld specification, and associated products.
Lead reactor materials acquisition strategies and their execution, including long lead procurement management.
Advise on schedules for the fabrication and assembly of reactor equipment, including integration of schedules across varying suppliers and project organizations.
Advise and interface with the RES GD&T, metrology, and coordinate systems of major reactor components during design and fabrication phases.
Oversee resolution of non-conformance reports and associated engineering changes.
Ensure application of reactor fabrication-related regulatory criteria, codes and standards, industry guidance, and engineering programs, including compliance with project codes of record such as ASME BPVC Sect III and Sect XI.
Interface with regulators, stakeholders, and customers on design, fabrication, and regulatory issues.
Coordinate with interfacing project teams and other project support organizations to develop cohesive design and fabrication strategies across organizational lines and ensure accurate and complete hand-offs are executed.
Review design work conducted by project subrecipients and subcontractors, including review of deliverables to project quality and completeness standards.
Provide technical oversight of external engineering and/or fabrication supplier activities, working with or as the technical representative to ensure delivery of submittals to project requirements.
Support peer engineer development through mentoring and training, as needed.
Key Qualifications and Skills
B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university and 8+ years direct experience with large component fabrication methods and processes, or an M.S. with commensurate experience.
Experience working to quality standard, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001. Experience working under ASME N-Certificate quality program desired.
Demonstrated experience in heavy mechanical/pressure vessel fabrication and assembly, or oversight of supplier and subcontractor organizations in similar applications. Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors subject to a 10 CFR 50 Appendix B quality programs desired.
Demonstrated diverse and robust experience in design and fabrication of complex, multi-disciplinary structures and equipment. Previous experience in design, fabrication, and construction of major nuclear mechanical components, nuclear reactor equipment, or similar equipment is highly desired.
Knowledge and experience in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII
and/or Section III fabrication topics.
Knowledge and experience with specialty areas such as welding and weld qualification, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5M), or others desired but not required.
Exceptional communication skills to integrate with a geographically and organizationally diverse engineering team are required.
Ability to manage numerous competing priorities concurrently during a given work week and work with minimal direction to solve multi-disciplinary problems.

Provide a variety of skilled welding on steel and aluminum plate, shapes, and CS/CuNi/NiCu/SS pipe in the repair of/or alteration of vessels and associated equipment.
Locate and mark reference lines, such as center, buttock, and frame lines.
Fabricate templates for bending, shaping, and bracing metal structures.
Set-up and use of portable burning/heating torches and plasma cutters.
Able to work well with others in a team environment.
Able to mentor junior welders in drawing interpretation, joint design requirements, specific welding technique (mirror welding) and processes.
Able to oversee the progression of junior welder workmanship inspectors.
Willing to learn documentation of fit-up, welds and workmanship inspections.
Comply with all OSHA, shipyard safety and environmental policies and procedures.
May be required to travel to jobsites away from Shipyard and utilize company vehicle.
May be required to work more than the standard work week, including weekends.
Perform Fire watch duties.
Qualification:
Must have a Highschool diploma or GED.
Must have Trade School with 5+ years of experience in the field.
Must pass weld qualifications (2G, 3G, & 4G) SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), Process GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) process.
Must meet NAVSEA 248 requirements by passing MIL-STD 1689 T9074-AR-GIB-010-278 Weld Workmanship requirements.
