Purpose of the role
The Press SME is responsible for ensuring the internal and external customer requirements are met while driving quality and continuous improvement across District Photos's high-volume digital print processes. Acting as the technical expert, the Press SME will research, test, and validate hardware and software solutions to support business needs and ensure global scalability. This role involves optimising Press operations, improving machine availability and reliability, and sharing expertise across production sites. Hands-on involvement in press operations, collaborative training efforts, and global support are key aspects of this position. Occasional travel is required to support the global sites.
Operational Responsibilities
Develop and maintain SOPs to ensure consistency and clarity in processes.
Define and communicate performance standards (e.g., speeds, feeds, weights).
Provide practical training sessions and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance availability, throughput, and yield.
Conduct root cause analyses for deviations in Digital press processes (method, machine, material, manning).
Test and evaluate new-related solutions for internal and external customers.
Share press-specific expertise globally, including participation in international calls.
Generate weekly/monthly performance reports for Digital presses in the US locations.
Process & Training Responsibilities
Create clear, actionable SOPs tailored to Digital press-specific operations.
Simplify complex technical content for easier comprehension by various teams.
Define evaluation methods to assess Press-related technical performance (e.g., hands-on tests, written assessments).

Collaborate with Planning & Solutions teams on the introduction of new Digital Press equipment and processes.
Recommend and maintain uptime kits to improve Digital Press performance.
Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, including maintaining proper housekeeping standards.
Maintain detailed maintenance and repair logs specific to Digital Press systems.
Propose and implement technology upgrades related to Digital Press equipment.

Responsibilities
You will lead the LMI Asset Management team and guide the duties of LMI Local Property Officers (LPO) in direct support our for our client's asset portfolios to ensure accountability for government property as it is acquired by the Border Patrol Program Management Office Directorate (PMOD), transferred to the field user organizations, and when required, screened for reutilization or disposal. You will work with technology diverse acquisition portfolios including mobile sensors; fixed sensors; command, control and communications; and subterranean technologies. As an integral part of the government asset acceptance process, you will reconcile support documentation and create asset records in the government financial/asset management database and review purchasing transactions for completeness as part of the acquisition process. You will develop plans and participate in semi-annual and annual inventories to support government accountability and to support annual financial statement audit activities as necessary.
You will provide guidance for the development of policy and procedures for PMOD Asset Management. You will be the customer facing representative to the government Asset Manager to review and validate all asset requirements to contract deliverables and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Other duties include:
Identifying areas for asset management program improvement or innovation such as perpetual inventory, or cycle counting.
Determining innovative alternatives to sustain the accountability of government personal property within the purview of the Border Patrol PMOD.
Document the annual inventory process for use by those conducting the inventory.
Provide site-specific asset management support as when required to accelerate acceptance of assets in new site locations.
Monitor execution of the annual inventory plan in coordination with local field components.

Background: The DHHS is responsible for advanced development and procurement of medical countermeasures to public health threats in the form of naturally occurring diseases such as influenza and “weaponized” chemical, biological, and radiation terrorist actions. They complete this mission through contracting actions to the industry that will develop, gain FDA approval and produce for storage necessary countermeasures. DHHS must careful describe the need within solicitations and then upon award of contract monitor progress against set cost, schedule, and performance guidelines. These actions require subject matter experts in several different disciplines of medical pharmaceutical and device development and manufacturing.
Within this larger portfolio are respiratory devices that can provide support to respiratory compromised patients during pandemic influenza outbreaks or any all-hazards events. This includes durable re-useable medical devices and respiratory protection devices for use in austere locations and often without direct medical personnel oversight. The DHHS requires a subject matter expert who can provide necessary expertise in the engineering development, regulatory compliance, and clinical usage of such devices.
