This role will include responsibility for client/case acquisition, case management, review and analysis of file material, performance of inspections, and collaboration with support staff. As the lead consultant on cases, this position requires providing expert testimony through depositions, arbitration and trials, as well as writing reports and declarations. Additionally, this engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, analysis, and publication of novel research relevant to the industry. This position may also involve supporting other cases which Paragon staff are working on. The Senior Level Expert is expected to assist in training and developing other Paragon staff. Responsibilities: The Senior Accident Reconstruction role includes, but is not limited to, analyses of motor vehicle incidents to assess questions regarding liability and impact severity, including cases involving heavy trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians, bicycles/scooters, etc. The engineer is expected to be well-versed in inspection of vehicles and incident sites including acquisition of available vehicle data. The Accident Reconstruction expert should understand and perform photogrammetry and videogrammetry analyses to analyze spatial and dynamic conditions depicted in photographs and videos. The expert is expected to perform collision reconstruction simulations through software such as PC-Crash. The Senior Biomechanics role includes, but is not limited to, analyses of human / vehicle-occupant kinematics, forces applied to an individual in an incident, and injury risk. The expert is expected to be well-verse in mechanism of injury, injury tolerances, and analysis of the exposure applied to an individual. A strong understanding of biomechanical literature and research foundational to these analyses is required.
