Manages and administers the estimating functions in assigned region, area or group to include operating budgets, staffing assignments, and work assignments. Implements established estimating policies in in assigned region, area or group to meet overall corporate objectives. Works with project managers to provide administrative and technical assistance in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders during procurement. Supervises the preparation of market cost studies, materials and methods, and recommends appropriate changes to database. Assists region leadership by reviewing project details and provides recommendations, and collaboratively determines strategies, techniques, and resources needed. Construction Estimator Reporting to ReArch's President, Estimators are responsible for preparing budgets, pre-bid packages, and full-scope estimates based on Design-Build and/or Construction Manager construction documents. In this role, you'll work closely with general trades estimators and project management teams to develop schematics and construction document estimates, solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and scopes of work, issues notice of awards to subcontractors and suppliers, prepare quantity surveys, and review project plans and specifications for both large and small projects. The team member is responsible for: * Developing estimates at all phases of design. * Coordinating the subcontractor bidding process for CM and hard bid projects. * Maintaining the mechanical estimating database. * Providing internal coordination with other team members related to mechanical systems (cost, scheduling, design issues, bidding strategies, and other risk management efforts). * Supporting business development efforts by assisting with RFP responses and possibly attending project interviews. * Performing mechanical system material and equipment takeoff. * Coordinating with equipment and material vendors for current technologies and pricing. * Developing cost estimates using Timberline/Sage estimating software. * Understanding the subcontractor market conditions and developing subcontractor bid lists. * Developing subcontractor bid packages directing specific trade work scopes. * Reviewing subcontractor bids and proposals for conformance to requested information. * Discussing estimates and subcontractor bidding results with Owners and Design team members. * Providing constructability reviews and quality control feedback to designers. * Developing cost reduction strategies and evaluating value engineering suggestions for cost and schedule impact. This position is responsible for: * Developing estimates at all phases of design, including coordinating the efforts of other internal team members performing site, mechanical and electrical estimates and reporting to executive management. * Coordinating the subcontractor bidding process. * Assisting the preconstruction manager with information to support clients and project needs. * Assisting the Chief Estimator with maintaining the estimating database. * Supporting business development efforts with RFP responses and attending project interviews. * Performing architectural systems and material takeoff and developing cost estimate reports using Timberline/Sage estimating software. * Coordinating with material vendors and subcontractors for market pricing. * Understanding the subcontractor market conditions and developing subcontractor bid lists. * Developing subcontractor bid packages itemizing specific trade work scopes. * Reviewing subcontractor bids and proposals for conformance to requested information. * Controlling bid day efforts amongst the estimating team to finalize competitive, hard bid estimates. * Discussing estimates and subcontractor bidding results with Clients and Design team members. * Providing constructability reviews and quality control feedback of project documents to designers. * Developing cost reduction strategies and evaluating value engineering suggestions for cost and schedule impact.
