Job Summary
Estimator I and II titles are developmental positions within the preconstruction department. The El/Ell provides support for single large projects or multiple smaller projects. Primary duties include participation in bid efforts, working with teams on Design Build and CM at Risk delivery methods, and providing administrative support to the estimating department. The El/Ell is expected to be competent in basic estimating tasks and is developing an understanding of more advanced estimating principals including conceptual estimating, project logistics, and indirect costs. We are seeking an Estimator II with 5+ years experience. Must have experience estimating heavy civil, highway, bridge, or dam projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accurately performs quantity takeoff.
2. Assists in the pricing of project logistics, including hoisting, personnel lifts, and temporary construction elements.
3. Develops abstracts and competently evaluates basic trade bids.
4. Develops basic understanding of indirect costs, including insurance, taxes, and fees.
5. Develops pricing for basic project elements and assists in the preparation of key estimating deliverables.
6. Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for review by senior personnel.
7. Provides document control (sub lists, distribution of plans, addenda, etc.) for assigned projects.
8. Solicits pricing for projects in the hard bid environment.
9. Supports conceptual estimating efforts within the department, including development of basic models for review by senior personnel.
10. With oversight from senior personnel, develops budget uploads and purchasing plans.
Minimum Job Requirements
1. Experience levels for positions are as follows:
* Estimator I: 1-3 years of experience
* Estimator II: 2-5 years of experience.

Summary

The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical infrastructure construction projects. What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
Scope Analysis:
Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
Analyze and interpret requests for proposals (RFP), project specifications, and pricing schedules.
Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
Perform material, labor, and equipment take-offs and cost analyses to support estimates.
Develop and maintain cost databases.
Prepare pre-approval project estimates based on drawings, narratives, and general scopes of work.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
Attend pre-bid meetings, collaborations, and conferences with clients and design professionals.
Define division of responsibilities, draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
Work with clients on questions and clarifications post-bid submission.
Assist project team with questions regarding construction and contractual requirements.
Data Analysis and Improvement:
Analyze historical data and project performance to improve future estimates.
Develop weighting criteria for proposal evaluations.
Review estimates with the operations team and executive team.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Manage change orders and cost-to-complete estimates of ongoing projects.
Proposal and Bid Preparation:
Participate in bid reviews and presentations.
Prepare and submit proposal documents to clients.
Provide expert judgment of costs to support competitive bid and negotiated contracts.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narratives.
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division or project management.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

Job Summary
Estimator I and II titles are developmental positions within the preconstruction department. The El/Ell provides support for single large projects or multiple smaller projects. Primary duties include participation in bid efforts, working with teams on Design Build and CM at Risk delivery methods, and providing administrative support to the estimating department. The El/Ell is expected to be competent in basic estimating tasks and is developing an understanding of more advanced estimating principals including conceptual estimating, project logistics, and indirect costs. We are seeking an Estimator II with 5+ years experience. Must have experience estimating heavy civil, highway, bridge, or dam projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accurately performs quantity takeoff.
2. Assists in the pricing of project logistics, including hoisting, personnel lifts, and temporary construction elements.
3. Develops abstracts and competently evaluates basic trade bids.
4. Develops basic understanding of indirect costs, including insurance, taxes, and fees.
5. Develops pricing for basic project elements and assists in the preparation of key estimating deliverables.
6. Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for review by senior personnel.
7. Provides document control (sub lists, distribution of plans, addenda, etc.) for assigned projects.
8. Solicits pricing for projects in the hard bid environment.
9. Supports conceptual estimating efforts within the department, including development of basic models for review by senior personnel.
10. With oversight from senior personnel, develops budget uploads and purchasing plans.
Minimum Job Requirements
1. Experience levels for positions are as follows:
• Estimator I: 1-3 years of experience
• Estimator II: 2-5 years of experience.
2. Four year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
3. Preferred candidates will have obtained their LEED accreditation, or express willingness to obtain.
4. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

As a Junior Estimator, you will earn $25-35 per hour, (DOE), which is paid weekly. The schedule for this position is five days per week, from 8 to 5. You will also be eligible for benefits including health, vision, dental, life insurance, a 401k plan with a match, and paid time off (PTO). QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelors degree or equivalent construction experience.
* CAD drafting and other estimating software experience.
* Experience with Bluebeam, estimating software
* Paving and excavation experience preferred
