* Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements.
* Work with project managers and financial teams to create project budgets and financial forecasts.
* Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
* Prepare persuasive and detailed proposals for clients, highlighting the company's capabilities and competitive advantages.
* Stay up to date with local, state, and national electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
* Ensure that all project estimates and plans comply with relevant codes and regulations.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, proposals, and project-related documentation.
Qualifications
* Degree in electrical engineering or construction management, or trade experience is preferred but not always required.
* At least five (5) years of experience in electrical construction estimating.
* Proficiency in construction estimating software and advanced Excel skills.
* In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry best practices.
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Detail-oriented with a keen sense of accuracy.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Experience assembling and leading teams, and effectively delegating tasks.
* Demonstrated experience training, coaching, and mentoring junior employees.
* In-depth understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and cost-saving strategies.
* Ability to independently estimate multi-million-dollar electrical projects.
* Ability to develop and present detailed proposals and qualification packages for large, complex projects.
* Ability to analyze projects and present value-engineering opportunities.
Compensation
The minimum and maximum annual salary (or hourly rates) that O'Connell Electric Company believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting is $95,000 - $115,000 per year.
