Responsibilities
Educate customers on the process of vehicle repairs, insurance procedures, customer rights, repair techniques, safety, and value.
Completes initial estimates, write complete estimates after full disassembly and damage evaluation, and lock final estimates
Manage each repair throughout the process and ensure Crash Champions' quality standards by performing in-process QC.
Keep every customer fully informed and updated on the status of their vehicle and provide the best possible experience for our customers.
Able to pull and review all data procedures for/with Body Technicians and complete post-scanning for each vehicle in the repair process
Pre-close the final repair order, Handle disbursement paperwork, address exceptions in the file and ensure carrier specific requirements are complete

This person will report to the Director of Estimating and will have the potential to manage a staff of Estimators and Estimate Coordinators in the future.
We're looking for your to do the following:
Perform detailed evaluation of drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work for subcontractors, vendors, and self-perform activities
Manage bid invitations by soliciting subcontractor bids and vendor quotes

You have:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field of study
7+ years of estimating or construction management experience
Background in takeoff and pricing of self-performed work including General Contracting: earthwork, excavation, site utilities, site, and structural concrete, and carpentry. Outside Electrical: street lighting, traffic signals, intelligent transportation systems, underground conduit systems, fiber optics
Experience in both Unit Price and Lump Sum bidding
HCSS HeavyBid Estimating Software
Computer skills including Microsoft Office

Position Overview:

Client Development

Preconstruction

Review documents and provide input regarding general conditions, project phasing and site logistics.
Create subcontractor/material supplier bid lists. Solicit subcontractor input when necessary.
Prepare bid packages, obtain bids from subcontractors and material vendors, and analyze bids from subcontractors and material vendors.
Participate in preconstruction presentations with the Owner (i.e., Design Development estimates or Guaranteed Maximum Price (“GMP”) booklets, etc.).

Have a working knowledge of material unit costs, systems square foot costs and total building square foot costs.

Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
Maintain files of working documents as back up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.

Construction Planning
Participate with the preconstruction team during the strategy meetings on the approach to the project or estimate.
Assist in the preparation of preliminary construction schedules and work plans.
Attend design meetings with Owner, Architect, Engineers, and Consultants
Participate in the project hand-off meeting between the project Operations team and the preconstruction team.
Visit on-going projects to verify status of estimate versus project status, meet with the project operations team, view work in place for experience and comparison to the estimate.
Requirements
Over five (5) years, experience with preconstruction and estimating preferred.
Civil and Structural experience in preconstruction and estimating strongly preferred.
Preferred four (4) year degree in construction or civil engineering.
Strong knowledge of MS Office to include Outlook, Excel & Word.
Knowledge of estimating, scheduling and quantity take-off software.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail required
Licensure/Certifications:
OSHA certification preferred.
