Job Summary
The Estimator is the fulcrum to Oldcastle Infrastructure's business to ensure there is a counterbalance to the customer needs and OI's profitability through accurate summation of all project costs through analyzing drawings and technical documents to create an accurate proposal for the customer.
The Estimator is responsible for all allocated inbound non-transactional RFQs. They review drawings, technical documents and other associated documentation to complete take-offs, pricing and ultimately a quote through partnering with other key Oldcastle Infrastructure functional areas such as sales, strategic account managers, production, engineering and transportation in a timely manner.
Estimators are individuals that exhibit organizational discipline and meticulous attention to detail while managing multiple RFQs.
Job Responsibilities
Complete take-offs and quotes for all RFQ's brought in by the outside sales team
Send quote to customer before due date, ensuring outside salesperson is copied on all correspondence
Communicate directly with customer regarding quantity verification/confirmation and quote structure
Work with the sales team on proposal strategy, basis-of-design changes, or value engineering options
Work with vendors to prepare bids and write proposals
Manage bids that range in size and complexity simultaneously
Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare cost and labor estimates for products, projects or services
Utilize market-based price list provided by sales manager where applicable
Assist in development of department improvement initiatives such as historical data, tool and template development and closing out win/loss jobs in ERP
Work with outside sales to ensure all Oldcastle Infrastructure products are being considered - “Own the Jobsite” mentality
Work with OSR to understand and complete an entire bid package properly
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of how to read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings
3+ years of recent construction and/or bidding experience a plus
Knowledge of software for proposal drawings
Salary
Salary ranges between $70,000-$75,000 with bonus potential.

The Estimating Engineer is a key player on the Fiore Estimation team who provides crucial support to the Estimators on bid efforts while gaining exposure to and knowledge of Civil Construction. As an Estimator II at Rosendin, you will be a crucial member of our Renewables Pre-Construction team. You will be responsible for leading the estimation process for renewable energy projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Independently analyze project specifications, drawings, and other technical documents to understand project requirements and scope.
Identify project risks and collaborate with the overall project team to determine mitigation strategies.
Identify missing information in owner documents and prepare RFIs for review by Senior Estimator and submission to owner for clarification.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to develop detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

Responsibilities include:
Instill Safety as a top priority.

Attending pre-bid site visits and investigations.
Provide support and transition for successful projects to Operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
3-7 years' experience in heavy construction or mining.
Willing to commit to office in Aurora, CO five days a week.
Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
Be able to work in a team environment and be self-motivated.
Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivations skills
Strong interpersonal skills to interface with owner representatives, engineering firms, subcontractors, other team members and senior management.
Competent in the use of computer software applications including HCSS or similar estimating programs, Agtek or similar earthwork programs, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledgeable in Primavera.
Strong communication skills both written and oral.
Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize
Time Management, multitasking, and prioritization.
Must have a valid Driver's License.
Salary range expectations: $110,000-$135,000.
