About the Role: Tribute Superior Equine Nutrition is a fast-growing retail equine feed brand that is excited to expand its in-house research capabilities! The Tribute Equine Research and Innovation Center (TERIC) barn manager will play a key role in supporting collaborative research efforts. The farm manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all horse care and facilitating research data collection. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horsemanship, strong attention to detail, and be excited to collaborate on research initiatives. The Kalmbach Nutritional Services fosters an environment of integrated decision making.

The ideal candidate must have excellent organization, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a desire to meet customer demands and corporate goals, while building an effective, cross-functional team.
* Organize and delegate daily/weekly workflow schedule
* Exhibit proficiency in all equine management skill sets
* Oversee proper nutrition, welfare, and medical treatment for all animals
* Monitor cost metrics to ensure budget targets are met
* Train, develop, and mentor farm staff
* Accurately record data and maintain detailed records
* Possess basic mechanical skills needed to perform routine maintenance of the facility
Who you are:
* Bachelor's degree in Equine Science, Animal Science, or a related field, preferred
* 1 to 3 years' experience in equine farm management, preferred
* Exhibit strong math and computer skills
* Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
* Possess high energy and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and fluid environment
* Demonstrate a reliable, dependable, and motivated personality
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and Team Member development
* Ability to stand and walk for long periods
* Ability to lift 50 pounds on a consecutive basis required
* Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
This is a highly physical job in a fast-paced environment on an active horse breeding farm. An exceptional opportunity for students interested in the equine industry or veterinary school.
Daily schedule includes feeding and caring for approximately seventy horses, ranging from newborn foals to yearlings to adult mares and stallions. Tasks include but are not limited to cleaning stalls, stacking hay, mowing, caring for sick horses, working with young horses under supervision, feeding, farm maintenance, and helping with breeding.
Candidates should have a strong work ethic and prior horse experience is preferred. Weekends and some long days will be required.
Hiring for this position is ongoing as the need arises.
This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Maintain the cleanliness, efficiency and safety of the barn and the overall care of the horses including daily cleaning, grooming, feeding and watering, as well as medical care and training.

Communicates to Equestrian Director any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up.
Assists with guest and camper trail rides
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age to work in the Equestrian Department
Ability to complete needed certifications and trainings as required
