Support integration of advanced algorithms into scalable, high-performance analysis pipelines.
Explore and apply cutting-edge frameworks (e.g., variational autoencoders, transformer architectures, and generative AI models such as denoising diffusion models) for improved data analysis and model performance.
Proactively ensure efficient execution by optimizing algorithms for parallel processing, including GPU acceleration where appropriate.

Communicate complex concepts and findings clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of audiences, including customers.
Provide technical expertise in spatial transcriptomics and single-cell data analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of relevant experience in image analysis, statistical modeling, genomics/transcriptomics, and machine learning, preferably in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
Technical Skills
Demonstrated expertise in advanced statistical methods, including probabilistic modeling and unsupervised clustering.
Excellent command of Python and/or C++ for scientific computing and data analysis.
Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/ Tensorflow), high performance computing and large-scale data processing.
Knowledge of spatial modeling and analysis is a strong advantage.
Proficiency in GPU computing and experience designing algorithms optimized for parallel processing on GPU architectures is a plus.
Soft Skills

Support, implement and update the Drinking Water Program's Communication, Outreach and Training (COT) Plan and related duties as assigned, including being the point of contact to plan internal and external trainings, including monthly staff trainings, new staff support, external trainings by staff for public water systems and others, provide information and articles related to Transient, Non-Community (TNC) Public Water Systems in each issue of DWP's newsletter In The Main. Plan and maintain a TNC information web page.
Support program administration, including preparing agendas, preparing and sending reminder emails for weekly Boston staff calls, monthly DWP Chiefs' calls, advisory committee meetings, update staff topics contact list monthly, etc.
Serve as the lead for managing the Program Director email account, including distributing emails and calls to appropriate staff as the first point of contact for inquiries from the regulated community and the general public and filing and archiving submitted reports.

Serve as the lead for managing the DWP Communication Hub and be the first point of contact for inquiries from the regulated community and the general public received by the Program via phone, mail and email; directly respond when appropriate and/or forward them to staff when necessary.
Maintain, file, scan and archive records; input data into electronic systems to assure current, organized and accessible records and confidential information, in accordance with established policies; conduct database queries to provide requested information to staff, the regulated community and the general public.
Use of Microsoft software applications including Word, Power Point, Access and Excel.

The environmental analyst is also responsible for creating compliance assistance materials for the regulated community. The EA IV will provide other support as needed to advance the Department's Stage I and UST programs' compliance and enforcement efforts, including updating guidance, outreach, and training materials, program implementation, data management and technical assistance to the regulated community. The position will also be responsible for data analysis to measure progress and identifying program research, assistance, and regulatory/enforcement priorities and needs.
Specific duties of this position include but are not limited to, the following:

Position Summary
The job site for this position is located in Marlborough, MA, and is a manufacturing and research site that is part of the Semiconductor Technologies business with the Electronics and Industrial division. On their behalf, we are seeking a motivated professional Environmental Specialist to lead site environmental compliance, environmental improvement programs, and be a key member of the Site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Team. The site employs approximately 450 employees and a large number of support contractors. The site is a world-class manufacturing facility providing chemistries that enable the semiconductor and electronics industries to develop next-generation devices.
Position Responsibilities
Serve as the technical expert on matters relating to the site's air pollution control, water and waste infrastructure, associated regulatory compliance programs, and emissions.
Prepare permit applications including renewals and modifications.
Interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulations then develop and implement environmental compliance programs, inspections, and guidance documents to ensure site compliance.
Verify the accuracy of emission calculations and estimates for routine emissions as well as maintenance, startup, and shutdown emissions.
Maintain and submit accurate compliance reports and records.
Develop and provide technical guidance and best practices to various departments regarding their responsibilities to the environmental program.
Monitor and report environmental compliance metrics on program effectiveness to the site leadership team and associated teams
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations during the design and installation phase of facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Build effective relationships with regulatory bodies, laboratories, and service providers for the regulatory compliance program.
Host regulatory site visits and inspections.
Drive incident investigations to identify the root causes and corrective/preventive actions.
Conduct internal 1st Party Audits and Field Environmental Assessments to ensure compliance with company Standards and Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Develop and deliver professional meeting presentations to stakeholders including regulators and other officials.
Be a visual presence on the production floor and provide counsel, advice, and support to other functions on all safety, health, and environmental and security-related matters.
Ensure compliance with company and site policies.
Supports the management of change (MOC) process as a change owner, subject matter specialist (safety), and change action owner.
Conduct facility training sessions as it relates to Air, Water, and Waste regulations to ensure compliance and enhanced awareness.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical degree from an accredited program.
Minimum 5 years applicable experience showing proficiency in permitting and compliance along with multimedia environmental compliance audits, and environmental management systems, (preferred experience working in the state of Massachusetts).
Superior technical writing abilities.
Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers, and other professionals.
Ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and regulators.
Proficiency in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
