Radiographic inspection of Investment Castings Review x-ray film for acceptance to inspection criteria Develop x-ray techniques for complex casting geometries Assist in auditing x-ray process to ensure compliance to NADCAP and AS9100 Hold NAS 410 Level II certification on RT Works under general supervision performing inspection functions on castings following established non-destructive testing inspection methods. Interprets castings processed through the process and certifies the conformance of the castings to customer's requirements. Inspects castings for visual (White light) compliance to customer requirements and may certify conformance when required. Reports discrepancies of out of tolerance conditions to Inspection Supervisor. Completes necessary PCAR's giving an evaluation of the probable cause of the discrepancy. Prepares technique cards and assists in setting up work for lower level classification personnel. Perform a variety of other duties and tasks of equal or lesser complexity. What You Will Do: * Work from blueprints, schematics, parts lists, wire lists, unit history sheets and other written and verbal instructions * within established methods and procedures. * Plan and perform disassembly, rework, repair, assembly, inspection, simple test, final process, and associated operations on various products utilizing procedures and techniques to conform with quality standards. * Ensure that all documentation such as specifications, procedures and forms and applicable tools, gages and fixtures are quality compliant and traceable. * Perform a variety of material control and handling duties such as unloading, receiving, storing, disbursing, packaging, and shipping material and equipment. * Prepare, maintain, and monitor all necessary records such as check lists, log sheets, unit history records, routing sheets and schedules. * Perform appropriate inspection operations including process review, visual and dimensional checks, and documentation compliance. * Operate computer terminals to retrieve, enter or verify information. * Review customer service instructions to determine extent of service to be performed. Generate documentation to determine appropriate routing of hardware. * Perform external visual check for damage and abnormalities and record on unit history and/or receiving inspection form. * Order all necessary parts by utilizing automated parts inventory system. Prepare supplemental sales order requisitions as required. * Utilize measuring equipment such as dial indicators, micrometers, and ohmmeters to perform required checks. * Clean and degrease parts as required. * Obtain, move, and expedite units, parts, and materials within shop to support operations. * Perform and maintain point of use inventory. * Review requirements in planning and selecting necessary tools and equipment. * Make up and install wiring, cables and harnesses deterring most appropriate routing. * Apply various coating such as zinc chromate, anodize and touch up paint. * Remove and apply bonding material as required; perform oven cure operations. * Set-up, operate and perform minor maintenance on equipment and tools such as soldering irons, desoldering machines, crimpers, heat guns, pliers, and torque wrenches. * Verify work performed. * Support customer witness needs as required. * Improve process and solve problems in cooperation with fellow employees and supervision. * Perform minor and preventive maintenance such as check fluid levels, lubricate fittings, clean, or replace filters, replace bulbs, and tighten fittings and/or hardware. * Instruct one or two fellow employees in proper performance of duties. * Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean, and organized. * Perform related duties as required within the scope of this job function. * 2nd Shift: Mon. - Fri. 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM EDT * Training may take place on 1st or 2nd Shift for up to 6 months. Amentum is seeking a Submarine Navigation Electronics Technician to join our R4 Electronics Repair team in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will work with a team of highly dedicated and experienced former service personnel in maintaining the U.S. Navy's Submarine Force Warfighting Capability. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Research technical documentation and develop test plans for use in troubleshooting, fault localization, and failure analysis of EHPs and outboard electrical equipment. Test, repair, remove and replace EHPs. Test, repair, and replace outboard cable assemblies and associated loads, i.e. snorkel head valve position indication, fwd. and aft anchor lights, bow planes indications, topside running lights, Bridge Display Unit, Portable Ship Control Station (PSCS), and in-port security lighting. Perform molding and inspection procedures for fabricating connector plugs for submarine outboard cables. Perform testing, periodic maintenance, and repairs to the Secondary Propulsion Unit (SPU) Low Voltage Differential Transformer (LVDT) components and SPU indication switch and cable components.
