Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. What Is the Opportunity?
The Director of Data Engineering will play a pivotal role in advocating for the importance of data and fostering a data-first mindset within the organization. This position will be responsible for connecting data to consumer insights to drive business outcomes, expanding data capabilities, and simplifying data usage. The Director will lead a dynamic team of data engineers and collaborate with various teams within Bond & Specialty Insurance and across the Enterprise to enhance business value, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and quality. The role will leverage both cloud and on-premises data for analytics to empower decision-making, provide data transparency and lineage, and reduce complexity and redundancy. The role involves promoting and advancing a data culture, aligning with data management and governance standards, and adopting architectural data strategies to build a robust foundational data layer. Key responsibilities include translating business requirements into technical specifications, developing actionable data intake, storage, and consumption approaches, and conducting root cause and impact data analysis. The Director will also contribute to testing scenarios for data accuracy and validation for projects such as the Guidewire PolicyCenter implementation. Furthermore, the Director will be instrumental in expanding the use of AI to improve efficiencies and accelerate our work, leveraging advanced capabilities to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
