Summary
Westerman Inc. is adding a new Applications Engineering opening to their Engineering team. The Applications Engineer will provide engineering design, project engineering management, technical support, and leadership to manage capital and major maintenance projects including gas processing and treating, compression and dehydration, condensate stabilization, and metering.
The Applications Engineer will be recognized as a technical specialist by the division having in-depth knowledge of engineering process and/or technical aspects of the oil and gas industry. This person will partner with team of designers and will be a part of budgeting for gas processing equipment.
Responsibilities
The Application Engineer will be responsible for interpreting customer specifications for gas processing equipment The work will include performing complete design of oil/ gas and chemical facilities process engineering assignments and to potentially manage smaller chemical/process engineering assignments.
Meet with current and potential customers to discuss the technical aspects of new equipment opportunities
Assist in the continual development of process design and cost estimating tools
Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
Create process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
Communicate effectively with Clients, Vendors, Contractors and other Design Group employees at all levels of responsibility
Work directly with the business development team on new product lines and specific customer designs and requests
Lead cost estimating and quoting activities for projects including review of conceptual estimates as well as complete detailed estimates
Required Experience
Understand technical details of oil and gas processes and processing equipment
Knowledge of Oil and Gas Process simulation software such as ProMax and HYSYS
Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div 1, API, ASTM, ANSI, etc.
