Job Summary/Overview The Manufacturing Engineer is an essential position on the plant operations team. This position has responsibilities for leading and supporting plantwide continuous improvement activities, quality, and problem-solving processes. The Manufacturing Engineer must also ensure equipment and tooling are developed and maintained per engineering and customer specifications. Finally, this position also must create and update routings through time studies to support the plant master production schedule. Work with Manufacturing Technician to develop and improve tooling, equipment, and fixturing. Act as a technical resource for manufacturing departments. Work with management to support company capital plans through the design and development of work cells, machines, fixtures, and tooling. Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Coordinate daily activities involved in the operation of the Manufacturing Engineering Department. Instrumental in the development and implementation of Work Cells, One Piece Flow Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing Principles, and SMED. Responsible for maintaining plant layout.
