The Process and Operations Section of the Materials and Process Engineering Department is looking for a Materials Engineer with specialty in Metallurgy and Heat treatment to join our team in Andover, MA. This role is to provide metallurgical support through the life cycle of the product, including program hardware design and development, specification and statement of work origination, production and reliability analysis support, failure analysis investigation, mechanical characterization and testing, and qualification of new materials, and material processes. A qualified candidate will have a background and experience in metallurgy and heat treatment and will perform material characterization and process development for product design and/or manufacturing. This position will offer a qualified candidate the opportunity to support material selections during design, development, and manufacturing of hardware, and to develop novel solutions and advancements in manufacturing, including advanced additive manufacturing, while supporting failure analysis activities associated with a wide range of product applications. The role will involve evaluation of a variety of materials, perform trade studies, special manufacturing assessments, and focus on metals, coatings, and the verification and validation that materials and processes used on product meet design and program requirements, while also interfacing with the various disciplines, supplier and partners, to support production needs. Collaboration with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, subject matter experts, and suppliers is required. A candidate must be able to manage and coordinate a wide variety of simultaneous tasks within set schedule requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering or Metallurgy and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 12+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience
Experience in metal alloy systems (i.e. Aluminum, Copper, Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Corrosion Resistant Steel, High Temperature Materials, and Specialty Alloys)
Experience in metallurgical heat treatment and pyrometry including but not limited to SAE AMS2750, SAE AMS2759, and SAE AMS2770.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced capital project engineer to support upcoming large capital projects at the site located in Worcester, MA. The selected candidate will be responsible for the management and execution of project activities under the supervision of a Project Manager. Specific responsibilities for the position are as follows:
Role accountabilities:
Participate in conceptual and detailed design efforts by identifying scope, gathering user requirements, and providing comment on design packages.
Participate in / conduct regular contractor safety evaluations to ensure all appropriate constructions safety requirements are being adhered to.
Review project submittals and RFIs to ensure project aligns with the clients corporate specifications and standards as well as industry best practice.
Update site drawings, system P&IDs, and other documents as needed to ensure accurate as-built conditions are recorded.
Coordinate project activities with all internal and external parties to ensure project activities do not negatively impact site operations.
Deliver periodic project status reports to all internal project stakeholders (internal customers, engineering, and plant management, etc.).
Interact with city inspectors and outside contractors as needed within the scope of assigned projects.
Provide daily oversight of all on-site contractors for assigned projects. This includes (but is not limited to) scheduling of contractor activities, oversight of contractor safety while on site, and acting as liaison between contractors and site personnel as required.
Support startup of new equipment, including the execution of commissioning activities, field troubleshooting of newly installed equipment, and field support to site validation staff.

Qualifications & Experience:
BS in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Electrical Engineering with 6-8 years of relevant work experience is required.
Construction management for utility, process, equipment, and facility project experience is greatly desired.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, possesses excellent planning and organizational skills
Strong teamwork and the ability to maintain constructive relationships with personnel from various disciplines at all levels in the organization is required.
PMP certification is a significant advantage.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30-hour qualification is a significant advantage.
Previous biotech / biopharmaceutical experience is a significant advantage.
Exposure to commercial construction activities with some degree of understanding of all trades to support construction efforts.
General knowledge of pertinent building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire protection codes.
Qualifications/training in construction management is a plus.
Candidates must be able to lift 25 lbs and negotiate active construction sites.
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.

Basic Qualifications:

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Role description:

The Equipment Engineer is responsible for supporting the integration of new and relocated lab equipment with existing building and utility infrastructure, providing engineering support to the instrumentation and capital projects teams, and developing and optimizing engineering standards for laboratory equipment.

Develop new and optimize existing processes associated with the procurement and installation of new lab equipment and associated lab modification projects
Evaluate, optimize, and help to maintain asset information and documentation in site CMMS and doc control systems
Develop and maintain maintenance and reliability standards for new and existing lab equipment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering
Experience working in highly regulated environments, specifically in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or Research and Development (R&D)
Knowledge of building utilities, including HVAC, BMS, plumbing, electrical, hydronic, and water purification systems
Experience installing and maintaining complex laboratory and manufacturing equipment
Experience in supporting large engineering capital projects
Must be able to take ownership and balance multiple complex assignments simultaneously with minimal oversight from supervisor
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders and multiple departments to drive resolutions to complex problems
Familiarity with Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
Familiarity with reading and understanding P&ID's
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is preferred
