Responsibilities
As a Principal Systems Engineer (with 7+ years of experience), you will be responsible for User Terminal (UT) requirement, Ku and Ka phased array chipsets, Ku and Ka antenna architectures, fast antenna calibration methodology, hardware, firmware/software architecture trade-offs, implementation, defining test and validation test plans of various UT configurations. You will be working in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team and customers supporting development and productization of various UT products.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
Define UT systems architectures/sub-systems formal requirements and specifications flow-down using industry standard requirement entry and tracking methodologies
Analysis and design tradeoffs of various UT architectures including RF and performance simulation to support tradeoff decisions
Analysis and design tradeoffs of Ku and Ka band phased array chipsets and array antennas
Support the requirement definition of Ku and Ka band phased array chipsets
Analysis and design tradeoffs of Ku and Ka band phased array chipsets and array antennas
Define Ku and Ka band phased array cost efficient, fast production calibration methodology/techniques
Develop requirements from top-level to sub-assembly, coordinate creation of coverage and test plans release management plans
Proactive engagement with internal and external customer development on Systems' hardware and software architectures and implementation
Document requirements and flow down requirements to various engineering functional team
Assist in focusing internal and external engineering efforts across the organization
Ensure delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory and business requirements
Support in-field test and validation of various UT systems
Expect up to 20% of travel depending on the phases of the projects.
Required Qualification
BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
7+ years in SW/HW development environment with at least 5 recent years in architectural/system role
7+ years' experience with RF, digital communication and communication theory
7+ years' experience in development for complex telecommunication and/or satellite communication systems
7+ years' experience with formal requirement tools and methodologies (Jama, Jira, Doors etc.)
3+ years programming skill on Matlab/Python and C/C++
3+ years' experience in computer network and TCP/IP
