Job Description
What you will do
As a Motorsport Customer Application Engineer within the Bosch Motorsport team, you will be responsible for the following:
Customer application engineering of Motorsport products on-site at customer, track, and other development sites
Interface with development teams to ensure alignment of application activities relevant to development Motorsport products with a focus on hybrid powertrain systems.
Adherence to applicable software and product development processes to ensure expected high quality
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve both component and system level issues related to software implementation of Motorsport products in end use applications
Integration of continuous improvement practices into daily work to improve performance, timing, cost, and quality
Opportunity to expand role in additional product areas outside of application engineering, such as project management
Domestic and international travel up to40% (40-60 days) per year including weekends (on-site at customer, track, other domestic and international development sites)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1+ years of professional hybrid powertrain experience
Bachelor's Degree in electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, Mechanical (with software or controls emphasis) Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
1+ years of experience in application engineering or calibration engineering (academic or industry experience)
0 - 2years of experience in account management in a client interfacing role (complete customer journey cycle)
Industry experience in professional Motorsport, significant FSAE, or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
Experience working with ICE, hybrid and/or battery electric vehicles
Experience with programming and scripting including: MATLAB, Simulink, Python; especially in conjunction with data processing and/or for simulation purposes

May involve work onsite at customer facilities, vehicle test trips to support ongoing development programs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field, Masters preferred
3+ years of experience in engine, vehicle and/or powertrain testing
Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and internal combustion engines
Strong knowledge of SI and CI combustion processes
Strong knowledge of aftertreatment systems
Experience in calibration of base emissions control strategies to fulfill customer and regulatory requirements or experience in calibration and implementation of OBD strategies meeting CARB regulations
Understanding of base engine, aftertreatment and/or hybrid electronic control system strategies, knowledge on software logic implementation and control system functionality
Experience using commercially available calibration and development tools (i.e., ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, Vector CANape/CANalyzer, Matlab/Simulink)
Professional communication skills (oral and written English)
Must be a motivated team player to perform in fast paced development environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of hybrid powertrain systems
Knowledge of control strategies employed on Bosch and/or GPEC controllers
Strong understanding of US emission regulations and certification test procedures for Gas, Diesel and/or Hybrid systems
Understanding of US OBD regulations and monitoring approaches
Hands-on experience with engine hardware - engine assembly or rebuilding
US citizen or Permanent Residence a plus
