POSITION OVERVIEW

Work closely with others in the department and those necessary in other areas of the Company to facilitate the development of short-term and long-term distribution capital project plans based on system or equipment reliability, safety, risk assessment, condition, loading and other factors.
Develops and administrates inspection and maintenance programs and plans for system assets as directed.
Responsible for review, analysis and interpretation of inspection and test results within the distribution line inspection and maintenance programs and instituting appropriate projects, programs or actions where necessary.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Company's reliability statistics
Work closely with the Company's Engineering and Operations groups along with other departments to ensure compliance with enforceable standards applicable to the Company.

The base pay range for this position is $67,200.00 - $79,000 USD per year.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% performance bonus.
* The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Asset Management, this position encompasses electrical engineering duties for grid power quality focusing on our transmission and distribution system. The Power System Quality Engineer will work closely with the asset management group and other departments to address various grid power quality issues.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand one-lines, three-lines, schematic diagrams, wiring and connection diagrams for area of Engineering focus.
Perform project management responsibilities, where applicable, including fiscal control, reporting and closing of projects.
Understand the use of technical test equipment and oversight of the associated data and results.
Interact with area field personnel, providing Engineering oversight and technical assistance as needed.
Understand applicable standards and regulations per specific focus area of Electrical Engineering.
Develop solutions per system needs.
Work collaboratively with other Engineers and other departments.
Understand basic electrical theory and the application to a Power Utility.
Focus Areas:
Power System Quality Engineer
Investigate, analyze, and perform field tests as needed in order to solve power quality related problems at customer or developer locations.
Assess power quality parameters such as voltage fluctuations, harmonics, power factor, and T&D transients.
Perform post-fault analysis of T&D system events.
Troubleshoot and determine root cause for power quality issues.
Maintain compliance with various regulations and standards including MPUC Ch. 320, ANSI C84.1, IEEE 1547, etc.
Provide input to help standardize equipment type and needs.
Advance DER integration by performing analysis to assist in development of utility best practice of interconnections.
Work closely with others in the department and those necessary in other areas of the Company to facilitate the development of short-term and long-term system power quality strategy, planning, and project development for electric system equipment.
Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in various electrical engineering areas and provides support for engineers and various departments, including - Asset Management, PST, DG and AMI as necessary.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Company's reliability statistics.
Work closely with the Company's Engineering and Operations groups along with other departments to develop short- and long-term projects for the company's capital plan related to power system quality.
Responsible for prioritizing projects and creating project forecasts for the development of the Company's short- and long-term capital plans.
Prepare or coordinate the preparation of periodic data submittals and reports related to management of the Company's assets as required by internal or external entities as deemed necessary (ex MPUC, FERC, NERC, Executive, BOD).
Perform analysis in support of the Company strategy regarding grid modernization, system reliability, safety, or other business objectives.
REQUIRED OR PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
Five years of T&D Engineering preferred.
Experience with PC based software including excel spreadsheets preferred.
Position requires identity verification and seven-year criminal background check with update at least every seven years pursuant to NERC standards.
Maine driver's license required.
