The Field Engineer plays a crucial role in the planning, execution and optimization of the installation of Precision Solar Renewables projects. As field engineer, you will apply clean energy technology into application in the field overseeing field data collection and managing project deployments. As a critical bridge between pre-construction and operations, you will work closely with project managers, site supervisors and the construction teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a full-time exempt position that requires 100% travel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate project feasibility. • Set, implement, and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure project completion. Coordinate with subcontractors, service providers, material vendors, and customers to share project updates, set expectations and meet key milestones. • Assist in the preparation of the project execution strategies, schedules and budgets; collaborate with the project management team to develop detailed scopes of work. • Supervise on-site installation processes, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications, safety standards and project timelines. • Perform quality inspections and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards. • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to construction teams during installation. • Maintain accurate record of project progress, including daily reports, material inventory, and change orders • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to facilitate smooth project execution. • Promote and enforce safety protocols on-site to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS) ● Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field preferred. Responsibilities Perform full design of HVAC systems including full equipment selection for small to medium commercial projects. Perform heating cooling loads calculations. Experience in duct work layout is a plus but not necessary. Analyze system options and evaluate existing systems where appropriate. Hydronic System Design and Piping is a plus but not necessary. Complete full design in accordance with code. Production is performed using AutoCAD and Revit depending on preference of architect. Prepare detailed manufacturing instructions and programming data to produce machined parts and sub-assemblies to meet engineering drawings and specifications. Will determine manufacturing procedures and operation sequencing and establish tooling, gauging and machine requirements to fabricate parts and sub-assemblies for various products. Prepare detailed operation sheets and N/C programs, make estimates of setup and run hours for production parts and estimate design and build hours for tooling. Assist Group Leader to prepare cost estimates for new proposals. May technically guide or train Associate Manufacturing Engineers. Broad base of knowledge in external & internal grinding is a plus. Responsibilities: Will spend time in the production shops solving problems and improving processes associated with the parts he/she is responsible for. Support timely and efficient processing of parts through the fabrication area by generating operation sheets and manufacturing procedures on assigned parts. Assure compatibility of engineering drawings and specifications with manufacturing and fabrication capabilities by reviewing drawing and making suggestions for changes and revisions to enhance producibility. Provide accurate and useable N/C programming tapes by converting detailed N/C program outlines into specific coded machine instructions. Also assists machine operators with program prove‑out. Coordinates with various departments and team members to assure the most effective design and use of manufacturing facilities and processes. Establishes standard times for setup and run of each operation on assigned parts. Originates and/or makes studies directed towards more efficient manufacturing of parts. Includes recommendations ions for changes in equipment, processes methods, materials and designs. Follows up jobs during initial stage of manufacturing to ensure processing and effect revisions to tooling and processing as necessary. Consults with the Manufacturing Engineering Group Leader in resolving processing details on more complex parts. Prepares rework operation sheets for the salvage of discrepant parts. Follows through with corrective action to reduce the possibility of reoccurrence of discrepant parts. Establish tooling, gaging and fixture concepts. Review and approve tool, gaging and fixture design drawings. Estimate hthe hours required to design and also fabricate tools and fixtures. May work with client vendors to coordinate operation sheets containing outside and inside operations. Ability to aid in producing N/C programs. Assists the Group Leader with cost estimating efforts on new proposals. May technically direct, guide, or train Associate Manufacturing Engineers. Assure the acceptance and practice of fundamental safety principles by employees and management. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical 3 - 8 years of work and/or intern/co-op experience in a technical, manufacturing environment Comfortable delivering presentations to internal and external employees as needed. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, compliance requirements, or governmental regulations. Solid computer skills include MS Office, D365 CRM, Solidworks, MatLab, Altium, etc Physical Demands: The role is mostly office-based but may spend considerable time standing and walking on the production floor or development lab. Occasionally may have to lift and/or transport items weighing between 10 and 40 pounds. Work Environment: Predominately office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor and development lab. While on the production floor, employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts and may be required to put on precautionary, protective wear such as safety glasses. Some travel required.
