Seeking a Level 3 Thermal Vacuum Technician in support of a large Environmental Test Thermal Vacuum facility in the Space Industry. Will work with highly talented and motivated Thermal Vacuum Technicians and Engineering staff. Will support setup and testing of complex tests in the areas of Thermal Vacuum and Thermal Testing among others. Position is for a technician seeking the ability to work hands on with complicated testing equipment in an environment that is dynamic and rewarding. 2 positions are open one supporting primarily first shift and up to 25% third shift and the other opening is for permanent third shift coverage. Overtime and weekend coverage is required.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under close supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development test engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, or modification,. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Guidance is readily available from superiors. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks. Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications. Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to component level. Conducts defined engineering tests and collects data as assigned. Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus.
Basic Qualifications:
Technician Level 3 - A High School diploma with 4+ years work experience. Associate Degree with 2 years work experience.
Must be familiar with Environmental Testing Processes or Thermal Vacuum Systems
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance in the near future.
Dedicated, Energetic person with great people skills.
Ability to support the current 3 shift rotation and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Associate degree types - Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
