Directly reports to the General Manager and/or a delegate. Functionally responsible for maintaining all manufacturing equipment and electrical components at Almag Aluminium. As a member of the Maintenance team, openly shares knowledge and information including training of teammates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Electrician are detailed below, but not limited to the following:
Accountable for all Electrical, Instrumentation Controls and plant equipment maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
Work with minimal supervision in a safe manner maintaining a clean and orderly shop.
Respond to breakdowns immediately and /or provide communication for repairs
Openly share knowledge and train team mates on equipment functionality and history, procedures, and drawing mark ups.
Coach Operating personnel on equipment capability, limitations, and preventative measures to improve equipment reliability.
Troubleshoot and optimize various drives and instrumentation devices such as encoders, transducers, and thermocouples within a PLC control circuit.
Size and run conduit and connect wires to various electrical equipment and plant components such as electrical disconnects, transformers, breakers and a variety of electrical controls.
Follow and take initiative as directed in PM program including improving the program itself.
Contribute ideas and input to support continuous improvement within our facility.
Be willing and able to repair mechanical issues independently when needed.
Monitor equipment performance, document and evaluate potential problems for root cause solutions and improvements.
Must communicate effectively with all plant personnel.
Comply with all ISO and quality related policies, procedures, and system requirements.

As a Maintenance Techician you will perform preventative and corrective mechanical and electrical maintenance activities on plant equipment. You will execute and provide accurate feedback on work orders and inspection sheets. Earn $28 per hour plus regular overtime!
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Previous heavy industrial maintenance experience required
Knowledge of different types of bearing (application) in rotating equipment is essential
Ability to perform all technical aspects of the job by using all tools or systems required to perform the work. (MIG and ARN welders, cutting torch, plasma cutter, micrometers and calipers; Hoisting and rigging equipment, hand tools, hydraulic jacks)
Ability to execute periodic calibration on instrumentation, including scales, probes, feeders, etc.
Ability to perform required information for spare parts purchasing and perform physical inventory as needed. Ensure any special tools and equipment required for a maintenance activity are returned in a timely fashion and in good condition.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple correspondence
Ability to work different shifts, holidays and/or overtime as required
Ability to solve practical problems and follow a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Automotive knowledge, repair and troubleshooting skills a plus

Job Summary
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. Including but not limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts and bearings. This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently. This position generally reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Performs repairs in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA. (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements.
Performs preventive maintenance inspection (PM); diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders and building equipment.
Maintains DEI (Daily Equipment Inspections) backlog.
Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed, or cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
Inspects the quality of third party repairs and or rebuilds.
Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Ability to perform under limited supervision.
Requires a flexible work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to support operating schedule and the needs of the facility.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
