JOB SUMMARY The Apprentice Electrician is a training position to develop the knowledge and skills a Journeyman Electrician will need to maintain power generation facilities. This position is responsible for performing electrical maintenance which includes, but is not limited to, maintaining and/or repairing power plant equipment; working on both energized and de-energized equipment; planning work and following procedures/prints to install and maintain equipment; performing preventative maintenance on plant equipment; performing assembly and disassembly of components using proper rigging and lifting techniques; troubleshooting equipment; properly using electrical test equipment; communicating with plant supervision, plant operations personnel and/or plant maintenance personnel; and responding to call outs in the event work is required after normal working hours. In addition, these positions will maintain plant maintenance records in the Maximo computer-based work order system and ensure all work complies with environmental permits and regulations. The incumbents are expected to perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for their personal safety and the safety of other employees. Normal work schedule is Monday - Friday from 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required This is an entry level position. Experience with electrical and mechanical systems is desired. The starting salary will be based upon the conditions of the Memorandum of Agreement Wage Schedule between Georgia Power and IBEW Local Union Number 84, which includes an increase every six months until you max out in your job classification and a cost of living increase every July. **JOB SUMMARY** The Apprentice Electrician is a training position to develop the knowledge and skills a Journeyman Electrician will need to maintain power generation facilities. This position is responsible for performing electrical maintenance which includes, but is not limited to, maintaining and/or repairing power plant equipment; working on both energized and de-energized equipment; planning work and following procedures/prints to install and maintain equipment; performing preventative maintenance on plant equipment; performing assembly and disassembly of components using proper rigging and lifting techniques; troubleshooting equipment; properly using electrical test equipment; communicating with plant supervision, plant operations personnel and/or plant maintenance personnel; and responding to call outs in the event work is required after normal working hours. In addition, these positions will maintain plant maintenance records in the Maximo computer-based work order system and ensure all work complies with environmental permits and regulations. The incumbents are expected to perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for their personal safety and the safety of other employees. **Normal work schedule is Monday - Friday from 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.** **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** Education Requirements: + High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required + This is an entry level position.
