Description: ABOUT THE ROLE Performs various tasks associated with the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems of the quarry. We are seeking indivduals with 3 phase and medium voltage experience. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment Troubleshoot and repair a diverse range of electrical equipment throughout the quarry (i.e.instrumentation circuits, motor control circuits up to 13.8 kilovolts, low and medium voltage drives, monitoring analyzers). Schematic reading and instrumentation calibration. Low and medium voltage cable routing, splicing and terminating. Basic mechanical activities such as non-critical welding and laser alignment. Perform walk-by inspections and diagnostic checks. Maintain documentation, plan and organize work, participate in various team activities. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Position is responsible for fabrication and repair of electrical control and industrial cabinets or panels and fabrication and repair of associated cables in support of the KSC Exploration Ground Systems (EGS). The technician will fabricate cables or control panels to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel, wiring of all components, installation of control panel onto equipment, and testing to ensure proper operation. Reviews plans, prints, submittals, wiring diagrams, and specifications to ensure that the College receives the best products installed within current codes, industry, standards, and best practices. Assists in the creation and updating of consistent Design Guidelines for application during renovations and new construction. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance of electrical equipment. Obtains and maintains records of repairs and warranties. Additional Responsibilities: Manages and prioritizes work order completion with thoroughness and accuracy. Works cooperatively with other Facilities staff when necessary to perform any other college-related duties required by the Supervisor of Maintenance, the Superintendent of Physical Plant, and the Executive Director. Qualifications Qualifications Include: Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Electrician. Ability to apply current building and electrical code. Ability to apply sound electrical practices and display competent use of electrical tools. Ability to obtain FASA/BASA certification. Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions. Ability to perform considerable physical effort, including lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds several times a day. Ability to climb stairs and ladders and to work in overhead structures as well as around and beneath machinery.
