About the Role
JB&B is seeking an Associate to join the Electrical department in our New York office. This role will manage a variety of projects from concept to completion, and will work with upper management on staff development, firm marketing, and efforts to sustain and develop business at JB&B.
Responsibilities
Leads conceptual design (e.g., developing system criteria, equipment room sizing, building stack, etc.) of all projects, and guides team through construction document issuance and project completion.
Manages the review of shop drawings, RFI's, Contractor change orders; site visits and punch lists to verify that designs are being implemented accurately.
Establishes an efficient project schedule for their project team that ensures appropriate use of resources while adhering to deadlines; follows up on progress and completion of tasks.
Prepares proposals/add services; initiates review and approval by Partner; manages design/Owner changes.
Coaches staff by providing timely and specific feedback on performance; works with each team member to identify professional development goals and follows up on their progress. Provides performance evaluations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
10-14 years of Electrical engineering experience
Proficient in all design calculations and software tools (e.g., Revit and AutoCAD) applicable to your discipline
Strong project management and leadership skills
Strong understanding of trade-specific scope of project, trade-related codes, and the required coordination with other trades
