The position will bridge capital investment, completing routine maintenance requirements to create a shared understanding and generate support for electrical distribution and infrastructure projects. * Support the maintenance and reliability phases of electrical infrastructure. * Electrical infrastructure voltages range from 480V to 13.2KV, medium voltage is considered 600V to 13.2KV * Understand, follow and participate in the upkeep of Bayer electrical norms, practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures staying current with industry standards, technology and improved safety methods * Collaborate with Plant Managers/Cost center heads, as well as other engineering and project disciplines, creating a common understanding and generating support for electrical distribution and infrastructure projects * Work with area plant electrical team for startup of new or modified electrical infrastructure equipment * Ensure electrical safety and compliance with NFPA 70E along with the Health and Safety group * Coordinate maintaining technical documentation: Arc Flash study, One-Line diagrams, Load Studies, etc. * Evaluate and provide electrical engineering and/or project management services with respect to electrical infrastructure ensuring the achievement of project and operational objectives. * This includes safety, technical correctness, budget, constructability, schedule, maintainability, and operability. * Develop, review and approve electrical specifications, drawings and other documentation, as well as assist in compiling or create construction packages * Provide direction and support to electrical designers for CAD drafting, electrical code guidelines and proper electrical installation * Provide field support, and participate in check-out, commissioning and start-up as needed * Support required for high and medium voltage maintenance personnel on distribution projects * Provide direction to field engineers for performing switchgear, motor control center, utility and rental equipment maintenance or installation * Interface with other area engineering disciplines/departments, customers and vendors/suppliers, 3rd party contractors and other skilled trade groups to ensure scope of work development and execution of projects are correct and agreeable to all parties * Interface with Regional Electrical Power Providers for system load changes, power outages, demand changes and infrastructure modifications. * Travel Requirement - Avg 40% is expected within region WHO YOU ARE Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required qualifications * Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer * BS in Electrical Engineering discipline with 10+ years' experience in Electrical Power Distribution at Industrial Manufacturing Production Facilities in the areas of maintenance, engineering, and operation, or MS with at least 6 years' experience, or Ph.D. with at a minimum of 4 years' experience * Experience with DC/AC voltage up to 13.2kV * Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NFPA 70 and 70E) * Experienced in reliability centered maintenance and engineering. * Competent and knowledgeable of the holistic approach to effective asset performance management * Experienced in the use of SKM PowerTools to execute fault calculations, load flow studies, relay coordination and arc flash hazard analysis. * Good knowledge of planned preventive and predictive (PM/PdM) maintenance principles and practices WHAT WE OFFER Base salary estimated range between $117,909.54 - $176,864.32 annually, depending on the hiring location.
