Job Summary: Electrical Technicians are responsible for the maintenance, testing, repair, and installation of electronic equipment and associated components using product specifications and standard diagnostic procedures. Assembly of electrical control panels, junction boxes, and some wire harnesses from prints. This position is responsible for the physical assembly, wiring and testing of control panels for industrial equipment. The technician will fabricate controls to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel, wiring of all components, installation of control panel onto equipment, and testing to ensure proper operation. All duties must be performed in accordance with all company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned Qualifications What we are looking for: MUST have minimum high school diploma/GED. MUST have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be able to work full-time hours, with the possibility of unusual scheduled hours as needed, along with overtime hours as needed, sometimes on short notice. Travel may be needed, including international travel. Must be able to gain clearance to enter government work sites. Good mechanical and electrical skills, along with experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment. Knowledge of electrical wiring practices, and the ability to read cable and wire color codes to place wires with precision and hook-up required. Must be able to read blueprints, schematic diagrams, and use electrical test equipment. Working knowledge of test equipment. Must have the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. Must comprehend written and verbal instructions and hear warning signals, read, and comprehend safety instructions, regulations, and warnings. Knowledge of basic safety standards with the ability to learn codes and regulations associated with fire protection. Effective customer service and communication skills. Detail oriented and strong problem-solving skills. Proficient in the use of computer programs such as Word, Excel, & Outlook, and the ability to work on tablet/phone-based applications. Good time-management skills. The ability to meet deadlines under pressure. A high standard of quality and attention to detail. Physical Requirements While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings and outdoor settings, which can potentially expose employees to noise, dust, heat stress, thermal stress, low light conditions, heights, etc. Capable of standing, walking, bending and kneeling for extended periods Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed, which would require use of fall protection equipment and other safety devices Capable of using hand and power tools, including specialty tools resulting in cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening and other methods resulting in torque, vibration, noise, etc. Hiller is a drug-free workplace, an equal opportunity employer and ADA compliant.
