What You'll Do As a BIM Specialist, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing BIM models for electrical systems while ensuring effective coordination with other trades. You will work with the VDC Project Manager to execute BIM workflows over the lifecycle of the project, including but not limited to, preconstruction planning, model population, model coordination, and installation drawings. Key responsibilities include: BIM Model Development & Coordination Develop high-quality BIM models for electrical systems (Power, Lighting, Telecom, AV, FA, Security) Proactively identify and resolve clashes through Navisworks and other tools Maintain model accuracy, naming conventions, and performance optimization Develop and manage custom Revit families and maintain a library of high-quality families Project Deliverables & Documentation Create detailed installation drawings, prefabrication specs, redlines, and point layouts Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards, project requirements, and industry best practices Maintain consistency and clarity across project documentation Technical Review & QA/QC Conduct comprehensive document reviews, including submittals, RFIs, contract documents, and shop drawings Provide QA/QC checks on models and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance Monitor model performance and optimize workflows to enhance efficiency Technical Support & Training Provide technical mentorship and support to junior team members Develop and maintain knowledge bases, best practices, and troubleshooting guides Assist in automating and streamlining workflows using Revit add-ins, Dynamo scripts, and other tools Utilize eVolve for modeling proficiency to deploy prefabrication packages to the field Research & Development (R&D) for Process Improvement Identify opportunities for automation and workflow optimization to improve efficiency Implement and test new BIM technologies to drive continuous improvement in processes Project Estimation Assistance Support estimation efforts by analyzing design documentation and 3D models Assist in developing project take-offs and cost estimates What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in BIM/VDC modeling and coordination Strong knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, eVolve, ACC and BIM360 Experience with clash detection, coordination meetings, and issue resolution Familiarity with electrical systems and MEP coordination Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Passion for construction technology and continuous learning
