We're looking for a versatile journalist who can break news, write in-depth features and provide NBA analysis in a way that helps grow our audience in South Louisiana. The position is based in New Orleans and part of a sports staff that is spread across four publications - The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, The Advocate in Baton Rouge, The Acadiana Advocate in Lafayette and The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate. In this role, you'll lead the way for our coverage of an NBA team that features stars like Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. You'll employ an audience-first approach with a focus on trending topics, while also producing engaging features that give fans an inside look at the franchise. You will work alongside a pair of talented columnists. Also, you will work with our digital staff to build a brand in the New Orleans market with a podcast and vertical video. You should embrace working in a collaborative newsroom environment, and identifying new ways to make sure your content reaches its audience.
