    Senior Environmental Specialist (Scientist/Geologist/Engineer) Our Senior Environmental Specialist (Scientist/Geologist/Engineer) is mid to senior level position with experience in directing environmental field work and the technical evaluation of results to develop strategies for assessment and remediation in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines. This position is located within our Dublin, Ohio office. The position must have 8-15 years of professional experience with the following environmental activities: Primary Responsibilities: Work in a team environment in and out of the office. Manage large projects / tasks related to environmental due diligence, site assessment and remediation; including tasks to be completed by others and prepare written work assignments to describe work to be completed by others including scope, schedule, personnel management, time descriptions and budget Evaluate brownfields and other contaminated sites and prepare technical reports including site assessments, remediation approaches, feasibility studies, remedial action work plans, and remediation design plans. Develop an understanding of the contractual requirements and support preparation of proposals for new projects and/or change orders for existing projects. Excel at the administrative responsibilities of this position, including timely submittal of electronic copies of receipts and time records and tracking and recording rental equipment. Time records, receipts and rental equipment summaries are due no later than each Monday at noon Provide personnel training support including mentoring junior WCG employees in safe soil and groundwater monitoring and sampling procedures, assessment data management and analysis, remediation system operation and maintenance and remediation data management and analysis Actively participate in professional societies, conferences, and meetings that will increase the visibility of WCG and its affiliated companies to potential clients and recruits. Review, practice and implement safe work practices; including reviewing the Health and Safety Plan for each project prior to arriving at a site, ensuring required personal protective equipment (PPE) is available, participate and/or conduct daily safety tail-gate meetings and implement safe-defensive driving to and from project sites. Qualifications: BS/MS in Environmental, Engineering, or Geological Science with at least 8 to 15 years of experience PG/PE preferred but not required Experience preparing technical reports for a variety of regulatory entities and programs, including Federal USEPA CERCLA and RCRA Corrective Action Programs and state-specific enforcement and voluntary programs. Experience with NJDEP a plus.     The Office of Building Water System Oversight (BWSO) within the Bureau of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (ESE) is responsible for conducting inspections to ensure compliance with various rules and regulations aimed at improving the operating conditions of various engineered systems such as cooling towers, water tanks, evaporative condensers, internal plumbing, and wastewater systems in order to prevent risks associated with these systems. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: * Under supervision, the Scientist (Water Ecology) Level I will assist in performing field inspections that include regulatory compliance review of Water Maintenance Plans, Operational Records, Chemical Treatment, and Mechanical Equipment for a facility's water systems. Including but not limited to various cooling tower systems and potable water systems. Field inspections may also include water sample collection and water quality analysis. * Under supervision will assist to generate and submit field inspection reports according to the Bureau's inspection protocols. * Under supervision, will assist with customer service to our regulated community including building owners, facility maintenance personnel, superintendents, and any other responsible parties. * Assist to provide recommendations to improve regulatory compliance and corrective actions to eliminate environmental health hazards promptly in accordance with the NYC Health Code and NYS Sanitary Code regulations. * May be trained to review inspection findings and prepare necessary evidence used by the Department at Tribunal hearings convened to adjudicate notice of violations and summonses. * Under supervision, Scientists (Water Ecology), Level I will assist with following protocols in response to signals triggered by the Department's Legionella disease surveillance system * Prepare collected water samples for drop off or for shipping to commercial laboratories including completion of all necessary laboratory forms and documents * Assist in conducting field surveys associated with identifying potential risks for Legionella exposure. * Assist in reviewing plans, drawings and specifications for building water supply and distribution systems.
