1941

Dallas Summer Musicals, the preeminent not-for-profit presenter of Broadway musicals in North Texas since 1941.

1950

In the same year United States automobile production hit 5.3 million, a record that would not be surpassed until the 1950’s, Dykema moves its offices to Suite 2746 of the Griswold Street Building of the Penobscot complex—a move necessitated by more than doubling Firm headcount in three short years.

1956

Championed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the formation of these and other roads—which are part of the Interstate Highway System—was authorized by the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956.

1968

Among 30 years of highlights: Richard Ogilvie was elected as the Illinois Governor in 1968, while Henry Pitts became president of the Illinois State Bar Association.

1978

After decades in the Rialto complex, Thomas Wallace moved into our current site in 1978, located in a building that formerly housed the Montgomery Wards store.

1980

Its success in the 1980’s has opened the doors for governmental affairs occupations for African American professionals in the legislature, executive branch, fiscal agencies, state departments, and private sector.

1987

The Thomas Wallace firm merged with Rooks Pitts & Poust in 1987, becoming the southwest component of a metropolitan Chicago firm of approximately 70 lawyers in three offices.

1995

In fact, due to rapid growth, the Firm is prompted to relocate to a larger office space in 1995.

2004

In 2004 Rooks Pitts merged with Dykema Gossett PLLC, a large firm of 350 lawyers and professionals with offices in Michigan, Illinois, California and Washington D.C.

2008

Becoming effective on July 14, 2008, Dykema's merger with Schwartz Cooper Chartered grows the firm by 53 attorneys.

2013

Dykema opened its Minneapolis office in January 2013.

2022

Legal 500 United States 2022 Ranks Dykema Among Nation’s Best in Four Categories
