Job Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY
The Transload Operator is responsible for the unloading of sand at facilities. Responsibilities include moving rail cars into position, monitoring flows, directing sand to appropriate truck or silo, and preparing empty cars for transit.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Employee will adhere to Universal Precautions and follow all safety guidelines. Employee will contact supervisor for clean-up of any waste regulated by Blood-borne pathogens standard.

Safety • Responsibilities in this area are to comply with safety rules and to report any unsafe conditions to the facility supervisor immediately. • Make sure all power and air to the machine is off before performing ANY repairs. • Able to execute daily and weekly Preventative Maintenance (PM). • Never operate the machine without all doors and guards in place. • Keep floor around machine and holding tanks clean and clear of any debris especially gel. B. Quality 1. Responsibilities in this area include ensuring: • The maximum amount of air is removed from the bag without risking seal integrity. • The consistency or viscosity of gel is present. • Weak or uncompleted seals are rejected and corrected. • Pin holes or burned seals are rejected and corrected. • Film has good print quality and is of the correct thickness. • Check the units produced from the machine at the weigh station to ensure they are both the proper weights and dimension EVERY 20 MINUTES. Document this by completing the 'Gel Production Quality Control Report.' • Oversee packers to ensure the proper number of units is packed in each case. • The packer should place units in the case label up in a manner where they are not at risk of tearing on the box/partition and then flatten each pack in the case. • Oversee Stackers to ensure the correct palletizing pattern is be used and shippers are properly taped closed. C. Productivity 1. Responsibilities in this area include: • Each operator is considered the team leader of their machine. They are to be aware of the level of efficiency and quality of their packers' output to ensure that it is at the expectations of Pelton Shepherd Industries. • Maintain daily production standards and thoroughly complete production reports as required. • Standard operating procedures are being followed throughout his or her team. • Keep the shift and/or facility supervisor or (machine technician) if applicable, informed of any problems or potential problems regarding machinery, inventory, and/or personnel. D. SUMMARY
Responsible for safely operating high-speed machines, machine set-up, troubleshooting machines, handling materials, and use of other assigned tools. Ensure a safe and clean environment at all times. ITC Manufacturing offers a four-day work week (Mon-Thurs 10-hour shifts) or three-day work week (Fri-Sun 12-hour shifts) + overtime opportunities!
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for advanced operation of our most vital machines, and handling of materials.
Keep assigned area to include spare parts shelves and tools organized and clean at all times.
Perform assigned tasks in a timely and orderly manner.
Ensure quality of work by performing all required quality checks.
Maintain safe work practices and environment at all times.
Operates machine, troubleshoot and complete minor machine adjustments following standard operating procedures.
Completes equipment and machine preventative maintenance.
Assists in machine changeovers.
Communicate as necessary with team leaders, coordinators and coworkers.
Work safely at all times; abiding by all O.S.H.A. regulations.
Ensure that order commitments are met.
Promote continuous improvement through input and feedback.
Able to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to troubleshoot machine quality/productivity issues.
Able to utilize production schedule for next job.
Prepare materials for upcoming jobs.
Ability to change tooling, coopers, shunt cables, etc.
Complete Production Sheets & Quality Checks accurately.
Must be experienced with LOTO.
Additional duties as assigned by leads, coordinators and management.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
3+ years machine operator experience in a technical set up role, in a manufacturing environment.
Mechanical aptitude is a must, as well as the ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
Must be familiar with computer operated equipment.
Must be able to communicate technical information of machinery, i.e., speed, pressure, feed, torque.
Must be able to determine what acceptable machinery performance is and communicate the steps to bring machinery performance into standard.
Must be able to read and follow multistep procedures.
Must be able to use a caliper, micrometer, and a tape measure.
Must be able to read and understand measurements written in decimal form.
Ability to work while standing for long periods (10-hour shifts) to include heavy lifting of material.
Can work successfully in a team environment and/or independently and is able to take direction from others.
Heavy lifting (up to 60 pounds) of materials, bending, and stooping will be required throughout shift assigned.
Punctuality a must.
Self-Starter, Team Player.
Quality driven in all aspects of the role.
Formal technical training a plus.

SHIFT: 3rd Shift Monday-Thursday 8:30pm-7am OR 1st Shift Friday-Sunday 7am-7:30pm
Training will be on 1st shift Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm for up to 4 weeks.
