**Responsibilities to Anticipate:**
The Material Handler will perform the following tasks that are in alignment with the Core Logistics Functions of Receiving, Storing, Issuing, Inventory, Mail, and Delivery. The following list is not inclusive and other tasking may be assigned as required.
-Loads, unloads, and moves materials, property and misc. items on and off incoming trucks or vehicles: within the plant, in associated warehouses and other offsite locations. The method of movement can be: Powered Industrial Vehicles (fork-truck, electric scooter, etc.), electric or manual pallet jack, carts, semi-lives with T-Handle and other similar material handling equipment.
-Loads and unloads material onto or off of pallets, trays, racks, carts, shelves or other similar staging and movement equipment. The method of movement can be: manual physical movement, fork-truck, electric or manual pallet jack, lift-carts and overhead hoists or cranes.
-Opens containers, cartons, wood crates, bundles, or other similar items using hand tools such as steel cutters, crowbars, claw hammer, drills, knives or other similar hand tools.
-Sorts and prioritizes mail and materials for processing based on established priorities within each LAM functional area.
-Identifies and reports any obvious damage to materials and property in any LAM functional area.
-Identifies and validates material and property identification and quantities against documentation and/or systems information. This task will be done at the onset of a task as well as throughout each step of the functional task.

Essential Duties

Organizational Skills: A Warehouse Associate needs to have strong organizational skills to manage inventory, keep track of products, and ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. They need to be able to organize products in a way that makes sense, so they are easily accessible when needed. This includes keeping track of inventory levels and monitoring for any discrepancies or changes. Additionally, they need to be able to prioritize tasks and manage their time effectively to meet deadlines.
Attention to Detail: Attention to detail is essential for a Warehouse Associate. They need to be able to identify and track products accurately, ensuring that products are stored in the correct location and that orders are fulfilled correctly. They need to be able to identify any discrepancies or errors and take steps to rectify them before they become bigger problems. Additionally, they need to be able to recognize when products are damaged or defective and take steps to ensure that they are not shipped to customers.
Physical Stamina: A Warehouse Associate needs to have the physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, carrying, and moving heavy boxes and products. They need to be able to stand and walk for long periods, often in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, they need to be able to work in varying temperatures and sometimes noisy and busy environments. Having physical stamina allows a Warehouse Associate to complete their work effectively and efficiently while maintaining their own health and safety.
Qualifications
Experience with Komatsu Equipment preferred.
Valid State Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

REPORTS TO: Cross Dock Assistant Manager
Performs manual work, receiving, loading, and unloading customers' goods and materials in the cross dock. Verifies and maintains the integrity of goods and materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engages in daily activities of receiving, labeling, storing, and moving customers' good and materials within the cross dock.
Inspects good and materials from customer shipments against bill of lading to ensure they arrived complete and free of damage or evidence of tampering. Takes pictures of freight when necessary.
Loads and unloads goods using forklift, pallet jack, or similar material handling equipment. Performs inspections of trailers prior to loading; reports any unsafe conditions to Team Lead.
Reviews and processes shipping or receiving orders and requests; maintains appropriate paperwork, such as bills of lading, air waybills, packing lists, etc.
Follows safety requirements and completes safety forms and checklists; inspects and utilizes safety equipment, including (but not limited to) dock safety equipment, trailer jack, chocks, and glad hand locks.
Operates computer and office equipment to maintain a variety of records, files, and reports. Performs inventory control, using inventory software.
Suggests and documents process improvement ideas; refers to established procedures pertinent to current ISO specifications.
Supports other members, customers, brokers, etc., and follows supervisory instructions and established processes and procedures.
Maintains safe and clean work environment; audits 5S guidelines and complies with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Assists in providing necessary security within the cross dock; reports unusual, unacceptable, improper, or illegal activities if such occur.
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, experience, certification)
High school diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year of general warehouse or cross dock experience.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to communicate professionally, clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
Must have or be able to immediately obtain an approved certification for driving forklift trucks.

WORKING CONDITIONS
