This position reports directly to the Terminal Manager and is responsible for hauling hazmat commodities, primarily in Texas with Over the Road Availability (OTR). Job Duties: Deliver bulk commodities to customers. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection of truck and trailer. Loading and unloading of products. Utilize proper PPE for loading and offloading products. Ensure your assigned unit remains clean and tidy. Ensure that electronic logs align with federal regulations. Complete pre/post-trip forms and trip reports. Our ideal candidate: Valid CDL Class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements. 3+ years of professional driving experience. Clean driver's abstract. Dry bulk transportation experience is considered an asset. Working geographic knowledge is considered an asset. Must comply with all DOT interstate regulations. Ability to drive OTR to various states. Willing to work on day and/or night shifts. Polite and professional attitude. High regard for safety. Reliable with a strong work ethic.     TPG is seeking a motivated, dependable, and safe Heavy Vehicle Driver to test pre-production vehicles and their systems to support a manufacturer and marketer of medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Successful candidates will test drive and evaluate pre-production test vehicles on 'real world' durability test routes\/tracks, conduct safety inspections, perform specialized test procedures, and document findings on driver reports in a clear and concise manner. Leadership Responsibility: Though this position has no direct supervisory role, strong interpersonal skill are needed to provide support for internal and external Engineers, Test Analysts, and fellow Test Drivers. Job Summary: Will safely perform designed tire tests reporting prescribed known and unknown deficiencies during road testing of a variety of tires on a variety of passenger and commercial vehicles. Performs various durability and, accelerated life and regulatory tests including General Durability, Accelerated Durability, and EPA Mileage Accumulation Tests. Will make observations of vehicle performance, ride, quality, and component failures. Records observations in logs or electronic data systems as requested. Works under the general direction of the Shift Supervisor and\/or receive direction from the TPG Site Manager. Driver must be able to perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs, change spark plugs and tire chains. Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles. Pay special attention for commercial routes as there are routes that don't allow commercial vehicles. Also pay special attention to weight and height restrictions. (Low bridges, tunnels etc.) Load and unload trucks and help where needed, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary. (walk board, dollies, piano boards, hump straps) Driver must know how to conduct an accurate and detailed inventory. Inventory must include a list of all household items that will be loaded in the truck. Inventory list must be easy to read and understand. Inventory must match boxes labels. All items that are not placed in a box must be inventoried with a full description and detailed list of conditions. (Scratched, dented, punctured, broken etc.) Wrap and secure household goods using pads, packing paper, containers, or straps. Follow safety procedures for Flatbed trucks. Ensure that loads are properly secured in the vehicle, this includes strapping and tarping. Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing the relocation. Give directions and assistance to helpers, packer, and loaders in order to successfully complete the relocation. Driver is required to fuel their vehicle at the end of their shift. Driver will request daily assignment from Dispatcher. Dispatcher will provide him with verbal instructions and paperwork.
