About the Position
Drives carriages in the Historic Area, taking visitors for scheduled rides. Drives carriages and wagons for special events and programs. Interprets driving, travel and transportation in 18th-century Virginia with emphasis on carriages and horses. Follows procedures for care of horses and carriages. Essential Functions:

Qualifications:
General Knowledge and practical skills in working with horses and carriages, usually gained by working full time with the Coach and Livestock department or similar operation for at least two years.

Essential Duties
1. Ensure Area Transportation Supervisor has written notice of desired work hours beginning at 1:00 PM through the evening after-school programs.
2. Provide Area Transportation Supervisor written notice at least one (1) week in advance of any desired change in schedule.
3. Communicates with the dispatcher or Area Transportation Supervisor for any changes in assigned bus routes or new student passengers, including communicating orally while the bus is in motion when needed.
4.
