MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES * Safely operates prototype vehicles to test systems, identify issues, and gather data for development purposes. * Plans and organizes efficient test drive routes to ensure thorough coverage of specific features or functionalities of the prototype vehicles. * Assists in the construction and fabrication of prototype vehicle components, aimed at integration with on-board systems. * Creates detailed driving memos that document testing procedures, results, and observations; these memos will be used by the development team to refine and improve system performance. * Maintains the overall health and performance of our fleet of prototype vehicles, including regular upkeep and inspections. * Collaborates with the development team to refine and improve the overall design and functionality of our prototype fleet. * Processes playback/cutout data from test drives, providing insights that inform system development and improvement. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Calibrates advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) on individual prototypes and fleets, ensuring accurate performance and reliability. * Troubleshoots issues with prototype vehicles in operation, identifying root causes and developing solutions to resolve problems. REQUIRED SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS * Ability to maintain a consistent driving style, allowing for reliable data collection. * Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including routine checks and repairs. * Familiarity with Linux operating systems. * General understanding of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including sensor technologies, software architectures, and system integration. * Experience with fabrication techniques.
