For the Lifestyle and Metabolic Medicine team at the Broadway and Madison Center, WA
Collaborate with a team of MD's, ARNP's and other Nutritionists as part of a healthcare team to help clients achieve their metabolic health and weight management goals with an emphasis on a whole-foods-based diet, behavior change Psychology and guided physical activity.
Hours: Open to Part-time or Full-time 24 - 40 hours a week. Expectation of teaching one evening class per week, usually concluding at 6:30pm.
Hybrid: One work from home day per week will be available after the first 3 months of orientation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Medical Team to help patients achieve their metabolic health and weight management goals
Emphasize higher protein, controlled carbohydrate whole-foods based diet with lifestyle interventions to promote weight loss
Aid in establishing realistic goals and client expectations
Support physical activity, stress management, and sleep goals as part of holistic approach
Perform medical nutrition therapy (nutrition assessment, evaluation, and counseling) based on individual client needs and concerns
Promote client empowerment and accountability
Maintain regular follow up with clients through a combination of face-to-face interactions, telephone calls, social media engagement and online (MyChart) follow up
Provide meal planning as necessary; sound knowledge of cooking preferred
Teach weekly group nutrition classes and moderate monthly support group for patients
Coach participants through behavior modification to aid in long-term change, including assessment of readiness for change and motivational interviewing
Maintain program website and social media website for patient resources and inspiration
Code and bill for visits as appropriate
Assist in documentation for consultant MD when seeing patients together
Attend and contribute to team meetings regarding program needs and goals
Create and provide educational resources based on client needs
Maintain continuing education and familiarity with current research in the field
Assist in patient scheduling, check-in, insurance verification, and rooming.

Required Qualifications:
BA and/or Master's degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, nutritional sciences, human nutrition, functional medicine or comparable field

The salary range for this role is $49,300 to $96,400 annually based on full-time employment. Essential Functions
* Utilize population specific physiological and developmental assessment criteria to assess nutritional needs of patients who have been screened and identified in need of medical nutrition therapy. Direct calculation and documentation of calorie counts/enteral and parenteral intake.
* Develop a plan of care to achieve desired outcomes; monitor and reassess in accordance with established standards of care to evaluate outcomes and revise plan of care as needed to improve outcomes.
* Supervise/participate in menu revisions, record keeping activities, supplement implementation and acceptance/food quality/acceptance and adequacy.
* Educate patients, family and/or significant others in normal and therapeutic nutrition and drug nutrient interactions based on assessment of individual learning needs (cognitive/emotional relative to age; cultural, and spiritual); develop education materials to be utilized in patient education.
* Communicate assessment of nutrition status to other health care providers via documentation in patient's medical record and participation in interdisciplinary patient care rounds.
* Provide supervised learning experiences for dietetic interns when appropriate; provide services to other health care providers in nutrition/service issues pertinent to patient care; develop and provide education to the community.

Responsible to: Food Service Director
Job Summary: The Registered Dietician (RD)/Certified Dietician Nutritionist (CDN) enhances life by helping prevent and mange disease through healthy nutrition. In conjunction with the Food Service Director (FSD), the RD is responsible for ensuring optimal nutrition therapy for individuals in our care. This involves the assessment of nutritional status, treatments and interventions including; diet therapy, counseling, planning, consulting with other disciplines, and educating individuals on nutritional needs. The RD ensures compliance with National School Lunch Program (NSLP) planning menus that meet the requirements through appropriate menu analysis utilizing the Child Nutrition software. The menu should be planned for in a manner that is able to be produced and delivered through a commissary style kitchen serving a heavy volume of meals. Menus should be created to fit into the various programs budget.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Identifies individuals with nutrition needs, assesses nutritional needs according to age, disease and specific needs.
2. Develops and implements nutrition care plans and education programs.
3. In the RTF program will complete an initial assessment within the first 10 days of admission.
4. Prioritizes schedule to assess the needs of the incoming residents as needed. Ensures that upon intake special nutritional needs are communicated to the FSD and modifies menus to accommodate for special diet needs.
5. Knowledge of frequently prescribed medications, interactions and nutritional impact of residents.
6. Prepares diet labels and menus for all special diets in our residential care programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

25% Non-Clinic Duties: Floating staff often work off-site from their direct supervisor and must submit correct attendance reports/forms by each deadline. Participates in WIC Program and Health Department outreach activities and meetings/committees as needed; works in collaboration with groups and populations in the promotion of public health & improvement in community health status; participates in required public health team emergency preparedness training and exercises as assigned; maintains current dietetic and breastfeeding knowledge & skills for optimal service; stays current with state & local updates such as WIC Policies, State WIC All Policy Letter (APL) emails, Meeting Minutes, and other pertinent materials; maintains up-to-date computer skills.
