* Assists in receiving and storing incoming food and supplies. Reports food and equipment needs to Chef/Manager.

Assist in preparing dishes for patients following instructions for each patient.
Put together meals for patients keeping in mind allowed nutritional values.

Prepare food trays with items such as plates, flatware, napkins, and condiments.

Dietary Aide
The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. Preps and serves breakfast, snacks and noon meal to all participants according to dietary orders under the supervision and direction of the Registered Dietician (RD) and the Food Service Manager. Also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the serving kitchen and equipment.
Requirements:
Must have a high School diploma or equivalent.
Dietary experience in a health care environment along with knowledge of basic health and nutrition preferred.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, work cooperatively with co-workers and be able to work independently with minimal supervision as needed.
Must be able to follow directions and be detail oriented.
Excellent organizational skills required along with the ability to meet time constraints.

Last year, we served over 11 million meals. Through an array of programs that we offer, we look to establish long-term stability for those we serve.
NYCP is seeking qualified Public Health Nutritionists to join our growing Live Healthy! team. The Public Health Nutritionist is responsible for planning activities, events, and workshops, and producing outputs that will lead to a healthier food environment, focusing on serving the SNAP population. The support is needed for Greenmarket Season, Nutrition Education, Farmer's Market Tours, Farmshare, Food MD FVRx Program, Recipe Club, and many other community nutrition experiences and opportunities. As a part of the SNAP-Ed Program, LIVE HEALTHY! offers virtual and in-person interactive nutrition education workshops to children, seniors, and adults throughout New York City, aimed at improving the overall quality of life.
Extensive travel on public transit is required (a monthly MetroCard is covered by the grant). The Public Health Nutritionist will report to the Nutrition Education Program Coordinator at the 788 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY,10455 location. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday: 9 am - 5 pm; 1-hour lunch. This is a Full-Time position, 35 hours a week, non-exempt.
Responsibilities:
Implement SNAP-Ed III Nutrition Education and PSE Activities throughout Upper Manhattan and the Bronx area.
Lead all aspects of preparation, implementation, instruction, and take-down for all assigned SNAP-Ed activities and meetings.
Initiate and engage in communication with community partners about class scheduling and organization.
Ensure that there is adequate supply and materials for each activity.
Confirm that all attendance records and reporting methods are completed accurately.
Collaborate with the Nutrition Education/Food Equity Team on the organization and implementation of SNAP-Ed III activities within each project.
Complete data entry and submit monthly reports on Nutrition Education and Food Equity activities to the Program Manager.
Assist with data collection, organization, and data entry and ensure proper data collection techniques are used in acquiring evaluation data and ensure the integrity and validity of the data are secure.
Participate in required meetings, including SNAP-Ed required meetings and weekly team meetings.
Plan and organize work responsibilities according to priorities developed with the immediate supervisor.
Collaborate on other program-related or agency-related activities as assigned by the Director of Nutrition.
Work both independently and collectively to effectively collaborate with LIVE HEALTHY! team members, and our community.
Communicate frequently and professionally with all team players and have a solution-oriented approach to program planning.
Work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or weekends, as scheduled.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Health Education, and/or Public Health or Associate's Degree is required.

Assist the WIC Nutritionists and the Nutrition Coordinator in the implementation and promotion of nutrition education activities in the WIC Program. The Nutrition Assistant will provide support to the nutrition staff, including gathering information for nutrition assessment process, obtaining anthropometric and hematological data, as trained.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Essential Functions and Duties:
Functions as a WIC Associate for the day to day operation & smooth flow of operation. Rotate to the satellite to provide WIC services. Perform all WIC Associate duties as required.
- Provide clinic and office support to the Qualified Nutritionist
- Collect information for the nutrition assessment process, including obtaining anthropometric and hematological data, as trained
- Participate in breastfeeding promotion and support
- Complete issuance of food packages that do not require medical documentation, once prescribed by the Qualified Nutritionist.
