Dietary Aide Description:
Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions for reading recipes, dietary needs and meal orders are part of the Dietary Aide's day.
You must be physically able to prepare food, serve meals and assist the residents in eating, as well as be able to operate kitchen equipment and clean up after meals.
Dietary Aide Responsibilities:
Prepare the food for the residents
Assist any residents that need help eating their meals.
Assist in clean up, kitchen maintenance and setting up and taking down the dining areas
Other job duties include delivering food to residents' rooms, preparing and serving snacks and taking inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
Dietary aides must learn the protocols and procedures for their facilities, as well as the rules and regulations for the states where they work.

Dietary Aide FULL TIME AND PART TIME Frontier Senior Living is seeking an outstanding Dietary Aide to join Barathaven Alzheimer's Special Care Center community located in Dardenne Prairie, Missouri. Dietary Aides are responsible for the delivery of services provided by the Food Service Department. Coordinates and communicates with all food services and other team members in maintaining a holistic perspective of care and services for each resident. Assists Dining Services team in preparation, presentation of highest quality meals and service, and to perform duties as required for the smooth operation of the Dining Services Department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* As directed, performs all dietary services mentioned in the Resident Handbook and Care Plan
* Supports food services programs that will stimulate and maximize the unique interests and attributes for each resident
* Promptly resolves any potential food services and care coordination problems with all involved team members and team leaders
* Under the direction of the supervisor assists all food service personnel in whatever manner necessary to properly serve the residents. Fills drinking glasses as needed. Sets and resets all tables in dining room as needed
* Monitors: beverage and service stations. Refills whatever is needed as directed
* Helps the cook with serving all meals. Assists in cleaning dining room tables and dining area if necessary upon request by supervisor
* Washes all utensils, chinaware, eating silverware and glassware for reset of the dining area. Washes and dries coffee pots and cleans coffee urn to include the beverage bar and additional areas as assigned
* Cleans up entire dish room, including washing floor mats, draining and cleaning dishwasher and shining stainless steel. Cleans and organizes janitor's closet. Sweeps and mops dish room and kitchen floors, storage areas, the employee break room and delivery entrance as scheduled or requested by management. Vacuums dining room floor as needed.
* Delivers room service trays as instructed.
* Presents a professional demeanor that communicates to current and prospective residents the corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in the resident's unique needs.
* Other duties as assigned
Other Requirements:
* Push, pull, lift at least 30 pounds.
* Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend for periods of up to eight hours with breaks as provided for in the employee handbook.
* Good communication skills, verbal and written; English language skills adequate to allow communication with residents and staff, and to understand written and verbal instructions.
* Has familiarity and willingness to work with the elderly population.
* Must be able to routinely follow written and verbal instructions

Agree not to disclose assigned user ID code and password for accessing resident/facility information and promptly report any suspected or known unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of such information.
Personnel Functions
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
Report known or suspected incidents of fraud to the Administrator.
Log off computer workstations per established facility policy.
Whenever appropriate: Maintain an appropriate and clean appearance while adhering to department's uniform policy.
Staff Development
Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessary.
Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, in-service training programs, etc., as directed.
Attend and participate in facility mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled (e.g., OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, etc.).
Food Service
Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
