Assists in the preparation and serving of food for youth, staff, and guests of the facility in a friendly and efficient manner.

Cleans chuckwagon kitchen area, including cooking and serving dishes and utensils, removal of debris, sweeping and mopping floors, food storage, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, serve, store and label food in accordance with accepted institutional procedures under the supervision of the school nutrition assistant manager and manager.
Read and follow both written and verbal instructions related to the daily production schedule, menus and standardized recipes for food preparation.
Adhere to Federal, State, local policies, procedures, regulations and personnel standards.

Certificates, Licenses, Permits:
Orientation for Nutrition Employees (O.N.E.) training must be successfully completed in accordance with Georgia Department of Education requirements and Peach County Board of Education.
The ServSafe Course must be completed and the exam taken within the first two (2) years of employment. Employees are not required to pass the exam, but all employees must take the exam. The exam and the course book are offered in other languages and accommodations are made for those with disabilities. The course must be renewed every five (5) years throughout the duration of employment.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Orientation for New Employees (O.N.E) must be completed in the first year of employment. ServSafe must be completed within the first two (2) years of employment. The Culinary Pathway (when available) must be completed.
Physical Demands:
Ability to repetitively lift items weighing a maximum of 50 lbs, walk & stand on cement floor for extended periods of time, climb ladder, stoop, bend, lift and have hands in water; ability to work extended periods in temperatures ranging from extremely hot to sub-zero; ability to tolerate work conditions while cooking, frying in hot oil, steaming, baking and microwaving; operates equipment that poses possible risk, loss or injury; utilizes cleaning chemicals in solution, aerosol and powder forms; subject to a noisy work environment.
Terms of Employment: 6 hours per day for 184 days
