You will lead the design team for the Coinbase Developer Platform. What you'll be doing (ie. job duties):
Lead and manage a team of 3-5 Product Designers building great developer experiences
Proactively identify blockers, opportunities and improvements to the team's product area.
Be involved in all decision-making at all project phases for your product area (including planning, strategic, tactical, QA, analysis, decision, shipping and retro)
Collaborate cross functionally to drive and shape product vision and strategy
Direct the allocation of resources for the team in the current and following quarter
Help others grow, including mentoring other designers

Organize and document multiple projects and the team's working in writing

3+ years of professional experience leading a team of designers
Have experience designing for developers (eg. developer tools)

The Designer is responsible for developing engineering solutions that meet customer needs by translating product requirements into detailed designs and drawings. This position works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, and aligned with client expectations. The Designer manages multiple projects simultaneously, delivering on time and on budget.
What does the Designer do at SpecSys?
Actively listen to clients, internal teams, and all stakeholders to understand design needs and expectations
Take ownership of design projects from concept through completion including:
Completion of projects on time and on budget
Verifying designs meet customer needs and performance and configuration specifications
Work proficiently with multiple CAD platforms (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
Create and review detailed CAD models of manufactured components, assemblies, and purchased parts
Develop detailed engineering drawings for fabrication, weldments, assemblies, schematics, and purchased components
Review drawings and models for completeness, accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with customer standards.
Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), reviewing for completeness
Specify and source purchase components based on design requirements
Prepare CAD models for Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Prepare project review booklets and documentation
Prepare Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and submit to customers

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Design Drafter Co-op Intern position in the Global Lighting & Transportation Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual who will be an active participant in contributing to the goals of the Drafting team while learning best practices from some of the finest engineers in the world. You will learn a tremendous amount in this role. You will be given exposure to other parts of the business, including subject matter experts from a wide variety of divisions and professions.

+ Makes sketches for use by other designers/drafters
+ Interpret specifications and standards and provide information to others to ensure that customer requirements are met or improved
+ Communicates with customers, both oral and written, to resolve specification questions in preparation of drawings
+ Provides assistance and input on a project basis to other team members in the development of shop drawings
+ Performs other essential functions as directed
**Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:**
+ CAD skills including design applications and an ability to convert drawings to 3D models
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications
+ Demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
