The Designer is responsible for applying Environments' creative expertise and design services to support new and existing clients. Design and Production

SUMMARY: This individual will support all aspects of major technical programs that are targeting both colocation and hyperscale builds, including oversight of employees and third-party organizations engaged in the preconstruction, design and construction phases. Working under supervision, this role requires strong communication skills, and demonstrates advanced organizational and time management competencies. A successful Design Manager with Aligned will possess a hunger to drive efficiencies and innovation, the humility to understand we are all working together during the construction process, and a heart to provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers and vendors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive projects from inception through customer or business turnover, with heavy focus and leadership in the preconstruction and design phases of projects. The Design Manager assumes project lead role at design hand-off meeting from the land enablement team and shifts overall project leadership to the Construction Manager (CM) at GC mobilization.
Direct accountabilities include:
Coordination/communication with the land enablement group to ensure success with offsite improvements, early permitting, easements and environmental studies.
Coordination/creation of project risk registers from land enablement phase through project completion/turnover to Aligned Operations
Project design management:
Lead/coordinate onboarding of third-party design team and creation of design schedule to support project needs.
Oversee management of external third-party design team through project completion/turnover to Aligned Operations.

Owns or directs all administrative duties related to design management process.

Conduct technical review of construction plans with understanding of architectural design within data center environment. Daily responsibilities include creating Schematic Designs and Construction Documents utilizing Revit, reviewing plans and or projects, collaborating with Sales and Operations team and communicate with clients, architects and engineers.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Modeling, drafting and detailing architectural designs through Schematic Design and Construction Documents using BIM software
Self-directed experience with all phases of the architectural process, including: space planning and programming, schematic design, code research, permitting processes, design, drafting, project documentation and construction administration. Work in conjunction with client, Sales and Operations teams during the preliminary design phase of each project
Create, improve and follow systems and processes for all company operations
Work hand in hand with the construction management team as well as sales team to meet all parties needs to satisfy the client's expectations and achieve a smooth build for the contractor.
Complying with office drafting standards
Code research and implementation on projects
Work with city officials & planners for project guidance
Other duties as assigned.

As an Electrical Drafter/Designer, the successful candidate will demonstrate the qualifications and responsibilities listed below.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Electrical Engineer to create designs consistent with industry standard practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards
Generates design and drawings including plans, sections, motor/VFD elementaries, single lines, conduit and cable schedules, block diagrams, details, and other drawings
Performs load studies, and sizes electrical equipment such as MCC motor starter buckets, transformers, overcurrent protection
Size and route raceway in 3D environments utilizing software tools
Size wire/cable for ampacity, perform voltage drop calculations, raceway fill calculations
Produce area classification drawings and details
Produce ladder and simple power circuit diagrams
Interacts with Clients to convey project design and identify scope changes
Interacts with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information
Reviews project/discipline deliverables for compliance with industry accepted design principles, company standards and customer contract specifications
Complete field investigations and measurements in support of designs.

QUALIFICATIONS / QUALITIES
5+ years design experience
2-4 years' experience in a related industry
Associate Degree in a technical discipline a plus
AutoCAD Certificate or minimum of 5 years proven AutoCAD experience
Proficient with AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Auto/CAD Electrical.
Experience or familiarity with Plant3D and Navisworks
Proficient in standard drafting techniques and in field investigations and measurements
Knowledge of relevant Codes, Standards, and Symbols: NFPA, ANSI, IEEE
Ability to read and create ladder and functional type schematics
