Summary:
This position is for a candidate looking for a long-term career in Architectural Design and Product Specification for a manufacturer of engineered-to-order interior architectural walls. You will be a part of a desirable team of fun, fast-paced, talented designers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creation of detailed product specific drawing packages based on A&D supplied space plans.
Provide product take-offs / bill of material lists
Develop details, elevations, and plans to support Sales Process flow.
Prepare lists of deviations between contract documents and shop drawings.
Manage all aspects of project submittals.
Provide in-depth product technical support to all other departments including product application and design guidelines.
Assist Project Management in accurately specifying project details to meet customer's requirements, including collaboration with Engineering to coordinate all product specific application guidelines.
Occasional attendance at project meetings and/or site visits to assist Project Team in field checks and site surveys as required.
Qualifications:
Architectural / Engineering / Design degree or equivalent level of experience
Advanced AutoCAD and computer skills
Capable of creating and modifying AutoCAD dynamic blocks
Experienced with Revit Families and 3D Modeling
Architectural glazing systems, demountable floor-to-ceiling wall products experience desired
Advanced user of Microsoft Excel highly desired
Proficient user of other Microsoft applications and Adobe Acrobat required
Visualize in plan, section, elevation and analyze designs for feasibility and integration around existing building elements for discussion and reproduction on drawings
Able to read and understand architectural drawing packages and bid specifications including door and hardware schedules
Familiar with structural and environmental (reflected ceilings, lighting, sprinklers, and HVAC) building systems
Knowledge of ADA (American Disabilities Act) guidelines as applies to building design
Requirements:

How will you contribute to the team?
* Working with engineers to produce civil and structural design of commercial and government related facilities including concrete, structural steel support structures and foundations.
* The ability to handle multiple diverse assignments successfully
* Preparing drawings and models including general layout drawings and structural drawings, in accordance with applicable codes and standards, specified contractual requirements and in line with good engineering and drafting practices.
* Create file conversions as required from Revit into AutoCAD, Navisworks, dwf, stp and pdf files formats.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new Software
* Completing Quality Management Training and comply with the program upholding a commitment to a culture of quality in all aspects of work.
* Coordinating design of structural systems with the architect, HVAC engineers, plumbing engineers, electrical engineers and civil engineers
* Working independently and in a team environment.
* Providing construction support by reviewing shop drawings
What will you contribute?
* A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Civil Structural Designer / Drafter
* Technical Academic and/or certifications preferred
* Knowledge of steel construction and design
* Knowledge of concrete construction and design
* Experience in computer drafting in structural steel, concrete and development of structural details
* Experience with public, Department of Defense, or commercial projects is preferred
* Candidate must be eligible to work on Department of Defense projects
* Strong computer skills and proficiency with
* AutoCAD
* Revit
* 3D model integration and clash detection
* Not required experience, but would be ideal:
* Tekla Structures
* Retrofit projects
* OpenBuildings Designer
* Ability to alternate between multiple projects or tasks efficiently
